who are the clients u going to show our book to?

it depends on what kind of photog he/she is. :)

give me a list of ad agency please.....i need to know ur understanding of tis industry........

:) hi, as much as it's of interest to you, i will not be able to list out the agencies that we are intend to get or have already got. :) hope you can understand our stand. :)

you are interested? i'll feed you more if you are chosen to be rep by us. :)

i would like to know wat can u provide me b4 i wan u guys to rep me.....and i dun think u guys are gd eunff...sorry...truth hurts

:) whatever you say.

since you are making comments so quickly, i seriously do not think you are sincere as well. watever, no damages on both ends. :)

Zann, I think what you're trying to do is a good thing, and certainly it's a service that people are free to take up or turn down so there's no problem there. I'd certainly be interested and consider taking you up on your offer if I were in a position to do so.

What I feel would have helped is if you'd been more forthright with your initial approach. I feel an approach of saying that "I am looking to start working as a photographer's representative" would have been better, as opposed to I am working as and giving the impression that you know all about it.

Given this thread in Offstone, it's quite clear that you are probably as new to this photo rep thing as anyone else.

By opening up and letting people know it's a new venture, and that you're trying to make it work as much as the next person, you're doing yourself no disservice at all. I for one have no qualms working for someone who's just working out.

But by trying to pretend to be an old hand at it and making everyone else look daft for not knowing about photo reps, you're potentially insulting the intelligence of the professionals you seek to work with, by insisting they show you their work without you coming clean about your background. As I said, I don't see a problem with possibly working with you regardless of prior experience, but it's something I would expect you to be open about rather than hiding away.

Good luck with the work!

:) true.

answering the question, like i've mentioned before, photo rep is new in singapore.
thus, i do not have prior exp as a photo rep. what i do not have, is exp in sales, and the mentality that this will work. :)

as of now, my partner and i have not decided who we should rep for.
we are looking for 8 good photog at the moment. anymore photog, we'll have to look for more photo rep. one must understand that a photo rep needs a lot of commitment and effort to truly rep for a photog.

as for referal, :)
my partner and i are currently rep for Lance Lee and Pete Wong from Offstone.
they are the ones that raise the issue on photo rep.

we responsed to their call and learn our stuff from them. :)

thank you so much chyeo. :) would love to hear from you soon. :)

pls do give us a chance to make this thing work. :)
once we have the photog, the network is there and the rest is up to the photoreps. goods come before sales.

Hi Jed, :) thank you for being supportive of such an idea.
as you can see, i had mentioned previously that i do not have a prior exp as a photorep.

apologises if i have make an unintentional impression that i'm in any way a veteran in this line.
my partner is new to photorep as well. in fact, anyone in singapore would probably be new to this.

i do not have any intention to hide behind anything at all.
that'll contradict my own self as being a transparent person. [to the best that i can do]

but i would still say that my partner and i have planned things accordingly and what we lack are people whom are willing to step fore and allow this thing [photorep] to happen in singapore. :)

with these said, i would like to clear my stand again.
my partner and i, do not have exp in the photorep biz.
our mentors are Lance and Pete.
perhaps this might sound protective, but we do not wish to disclose our potential client list to anyone till we have confirmed an agreement of the photog. it's like submitting a tender for a project, till you have gotten the project, you would not go around telling everyone about it. aye?

i hope that my reply is acceptable to everyone in CS. :)

hi everyone i might sound bad but in tis industry(singapore)it is very hard to work...becos u need to have a studio and eqments for all ur reps to use...those who wanna to be rep becos they dun have all tis stuff....i'm working wif a studio here and we do rep a few oversea photographers too....u need to provide them wif clients and a place to use...asst as well.....as a photorep u need to give support!i would say do more research b4 going into something tat will cost u a bomb..i'm talking abt at least 1 millions...and the return is not so great here...or maybe slow.....it very depends wat kind of photography u r looking at.......for advertising is not ez.....digital photography is the only thing now people will use and it is very ex......
