PHOTOGRAPHERS ASSISTANT (WEEKEND POSITION)
We are currently looking for an assistant who can help the Photographer in areas where needed. This position will be for anyone who has interest in the world of Baby Photography, interest in how a studio (small) is run, likes to have fun while working, loves working with babies/kids, etc...
As a Photographers assistant, this person will help the Photographer in all ways relating to the Photoshoots such as:
- Setting up for the photoshoots
- Changing backdrops & sets/props during the shoots
- Helping to get the childrens attention during the shoots (for shoots relating to few months old babies to older children family shoot).
- Assisting in Newborn photoshoot by giving a helping hand to watch the babies in between poses, etc (training will be provided in this area.)
- After the photoshoot to tidy up the studio and upkeep cleanniness and maintaining a neat appearance for the studio.
Beneficial Help:
We are currently also looking for help in areas of designing. It will be a bonus if this person have knowledge in Graphic Design as we need help for someone to do layouts for simple collaterals such as companys brochure, e-newsletter, etc. If the applicant has no knowledge in this area, thats fine too.
JOB DETAILS:
- To commit around 6-10 hours each Saturday and Sunday, and sometimes some Public Holidays (optional). Work timing will be largely dependent on the appointments we have.
- There will not be any work if there are no photoshoots but usually we will require assistance in all if not on most weekends.
- If the person can commit some hours from late afternoon on weekdays, that will be helpful. This is optional.
REQUIREMENTS:
We are looking for someone who:
- Likes working around kids / babies.
- Not afraid to be near newborns and have his/hers hands on newborns
- Knows how to make babies/kids smile and laugh.
- Has strong interest in Baby Photography
- Does not mind growing with a small studio
- Is always on his/her feet and knows how to stand by to help and not be asked all the time.
- Takes initiative and has an energetic persona.
- Is attention to details.
- Most importantly, is fun loving and great working and learning attitude.
SALARY RANGE:
Pay will be $8 per hour.
This person must also be able to commit at least a year, basically permanently for this job.
