I was there last Nov. Also took a lot of pcs of the sea dragon.

Did u manage to take any of the great nurse n guitar sharks.

Actually wanted to dive at Manly Beach to see real things but water was too cold...

no problem about it being taken from an aquarium ;)

There is a place called Stony point, just along west of Manly beach, (about 3 KM ) away i think, according to my friend there, that has a resident weedy sea dragon.

Alternatively, you can go to Halifax park, muck diving till it's finest. :D
oh and Weedy and leafy sea dragons as well.....

I was at Nelson Bay last year. Check with the DS (Pro Dive) and was told that you can't find weedy sea dragon at Halifax.

Also you can only find leafy sea dragon at South Australia mainly at south of Adelaide at Victor Harbour and Kangaroo Island.

Anyone saw Weedy or Leafy SD at Halifax Park..let me know..I will email Pro Dive for clarification.

The last time i was in south australia, the place where i saw both was at RAPID BAY, just a couple hundred metres away from the jetty. Rapid Bay is literaly situated in between Victor habour and Kangaroo Island (beauty of a Dive LOG)

According to my dive log, i have dived Shark Point 17 times
out of that 17 times i have spotted a Weedy sea dragon 9 times, generally at around the same area, North of the entry point at the depth of about 22-27 meters, the specific area is further up north through the channel of Kelp forest, after the swim-throughs. So far i have spotted him around the same area.

Another site where i frequently spot Sea dragons are at Waverly Cemetery, 400 meters north from Shark point. This place deserted by the way, instead of "squeezing through divers" at shark point. Just outside of the entry point you will see large intermingled boulders , generally heading north-northwest, when you reach the sand you will be in 15 meters of water. Turn left and you will soon see Kelp beds, according to my dive log, me and my my buddy saw 7 sea dragons in one dive. All at short succession and at relatively different places.

Another Place which i have spotted weedy's and leafy's are at Bremer Bay, Western Australia. 4 in total, according to my dive log.

:D

And there are Sea Dragons in Sydney, especially around South Marouba Area.
