hi, i juz bought a photo printer (Canon i865) for photo printing at home. I know it's more expensive to print at home, but it's a "good to have" kind of thing.

Anyway, I tried printing it through pictbridge first, through my Canon A80, and the quality was really good. But when i tried printing a photo from my computer, the quality deteriorated by ALOT. Can anyone tell me how to improve the quality of my photos on my computer? if i increase the size format of the photos i take with my A80, will the quality increase too?

thanks for your advice

Hi OrdiNance,

I think when you got a great print from the A80 direct to the i865, you've just proven to yourself that the problem doesn't lie with the printer. I suspect that you are experiencing the problem of printing a low-resolution image at a large size. If you're not printing the same image (as the direct print process), do check what is the image size of the file. Try printing on a smaller size (eg. 4R) to see if the quality of the image improves. If it does, then it is definitely due to the low-resolution of the file.

If you can provide more details about the issues you're facing, perhaps we can better help you out here.

Thanks for your comments Neo. I managed to get a better quality picture from my computer when I set the printer preferences to High on everything. I'm worried about the ink wastage... but it's better than having a low quality photo.
