Thank you for all the references, suggestions and kind offers. The main reason for my post is to evaluate what's out there and who is using what for image enhancement.

We’ll be offering our free download software for photo books, calendars and cards creation. One of the functions is photo enhancement from “Perfectly Clear”. Using an A.I. algorithm, it detects and change skin tone, color vibrancy and sharpens automatically with just one click. Some of the enhanced images are truly impressive. The only shortcoming is that you cannot save the image for other use, it save to pdf and print with us only. Good for professional, great for amatuer and it is free.

Picasa 3 is now available from google. This is probably the most newbie friendly software that does just about everything everyday shooters would need. New version even has heal tool now, hehe.
