btw, after re looking at the video,
what irks me is the curtain 'growing' from the bride's head rather than the flash.
wrong wb,
back focus.
The more i re look,
the lousier the video is.
Videographer should thank the flashes,
masked out his mistakes.

Look at it this way, there is no way you can get a better shot or angle than the official photographer.
You only need to seek permission from the owner of the house, because you are on premises belonging to that owner.
No need seek permission from Official Wedding Photographer. There is no property in "the right to take pictures of couple". The Official Wedding Photographer has no legal right to demand that you stop.
However, Official Wedding Photographer may be upset that you will:
- take the better position/angle;
- couple/guests's eyeballs may be looking at you whilst Official Wedding Photographer is taking photo, and spoil the quality of his photos (coz some people may be cockeye/pak jeow due to multiple flash/camera);
- later got friends/relatives say your pictures nicer than the Official Wedding Photographer (affect his rep); or
- later the wedding couple dun pay the Official Wedding Photographer for his pics and use yours instead (sometimes people will aeroplane!).
Therefore, since Official Wedding Photograher is engage by couple, you should inform Couple that you are going to take pictures.
The last few weddings I attended were ruined by GWCs or Uncle Bobs - flashes firing next to the couple, AF assist, beeps, ... not to mention cutting off the official paid photogs. I don't mean to be rude; but we might want to consider whether getting those few pictures for our own satisfaction is worth it. Why not just enjoy the special day as a guest instead?
