Not really hard to find, but hard to find it at a good price. I used to have it on a ME Super, which is slightly thinner than the MX, and the autoexposure helped a lot in terms of snapshooting. I've since sold the ME Super... maybe some day I'll buy it back again. Now I use it primarily on a MX, and sometimes on the MZ-3 if I feel really lazy to even crank the film advance lever...

wondering if u guys knows abt this feature on the pentax cam.
There is MLU for the pentax manual cam,
juz flick the trigger after u crank the lever.must be fast.
it will lock up the mirror.
works on my SPF, read it that it works on the various pentax manual cam as well cos its a test they carry out in the factory.

A short comment. The SMC 50mm f/1.4 is a good lens. A VERY good lens. If you can pair up with a suitable body, keep it man.
I myself own a pentax KM + SMC 50mm f/1.4 (but i dropped both lens and body
the mirror is spoilt, the lens barrel is loose still crying every night :cry: )and a Pentax Z-10 + 28-80mm FA (not that good) and a 70-210mm FA (ok-ok)

I think they change the formula during the SMC-A and f1.4 after SMC-A shd be better.
My SMC-M 1.4 shows vignetting below f4, I still use it a lot cos it's brighter to focus.

Well thats true about the lens, it tends to be softer at the edges. But do you have another photo of it exposed correctly? I think the one above is a bit overexposed. Furthermore it is opened up at f/4 so some of those might wonder why the plant looked so blurry and the colour seems a bit washed out in the first but not the rest of the photo.

The above are taken at f11 show on the label no f4 sample here. F11 cos wanna have a deeper dof and therefore can see it's sharpness eg. the grass behind the fish. Therefore at f11 there is no softness characteristic here and yes, f4 will be soft for all these lens. What I meant was vignetting, dark corners for SMC-m f1.4 and below. I tried the f2.0 and no vignet even at f2.0
Exposure i dunno, i show these before and got 1 chap say it's underexposed.
So i guess it's matter of taste for individual.
I shot them to see with my eyes cos I wana see how they look like beside numbers. The 3rd len shd be RKN (made by samyang) and not Rikenon (Cosina).
Soft can look nice too ofcos
The exposure of the foreground fish looks about the same but SMC-M f1.4 look abit wash out for the background and less sharp for the grass. Maybe it will display better bokeh stop down? I dunno

Will sell one of my SP-F if anyone interested. It was recently overhauled,
got a new lightmeter and prism... and had a split-focus screen installed. Easier to focus, and one stop brighter. $250 represents a fraction of the cost I've put into the overhaul and new parts.
Selling it as I have decided to use my Bessaflex TM more.

oh! and a sunpak SR22 manual flash. =) still using it... works great!
guys... do u think i shld get it cleaned out? both lenses are webbed but does not affect pic quality.
And the dead meter... anyone knows a quick fix? or how much to fix it. if its too much i wont bother.. sigh. heard its quite ex because of the batteries. been using it without the meter, which is okay i guess.
anyone knows where to get an EOS adapter for my pentax lenses?

Maybe can ask spyer to sell his z1-p. Sorry I haven't been keeping up with the prices (just starting back my hobby). But a few months ago I did went down to Peninsular Plaza to check the repair price. I asked the Uncle from the shop on second floor how much to fix my KM, he quoted me $100~$100+ just to take a look; Just to take a look ~ not yet even repair. He also said it could cost and additional $100 or more depending on the seriousness and parts available. I told him no thanks and then buzz off. I still haven't got it fix yet. And the more I think about it, the more I feel that it is not worth the time and money.
Frankly in my opinion, you're better off buying a second-hand one. You might want to consider that.

If possible, perhaps we can meet up and I bring my battery of lenses. See if it will work with your *istD. Yeah, kopi on me (but no starbucks pls, hang cheng pai). If it works that is still can fit, focus and do not need to operate in stop-down mode (ie aperture closed as per f-stop), the *istD would be back on my list.
No point getting a 300D and duplicating the lenses...

Which CZ lenses are you looking for? I don't know what's wrong with your KX... but if its the lightmeter I have good news for you.
Parlin told me yesterday that he discovered that if you snap off the meter coupling prong on the camera body.... and if you extend the meter lever coupler of a Prakticar PB lens ... you can pretty much mount a CZ PB lens on a PK body and you get automatic diaphram action. And maintain infinity.
Obviously no metering... so you may want to use a handheld or a hotshoe Gossen digisix meter .
The PB CZ lenses eg 80mm pancolar, 20 flektogon ... are cheaper in PB than in M42. And the build quality is slightly better.
