Could have closed early as CNY is around the corner.

Actually kinda regret...... Seems very very restricted to all items s
esp.using Pentax ...think the marketing side should do some action plan or else one day the brand is gonna disappeared just like that...I should go for Fuji !!!!!!!!

Actually when u buy pentax. Should use pentax lens. Cos pentax high end lens is about or less than half price of high end canon n nikon lens.
I find alot of times good lens on a lousy body is better than a lousy lens on a good body

I use to have canon and 4 L lens ranging from 16mm to 300mm (spend $10000++)
Canon L lens are just too big n heavy n not water resistant.
I sold everything, n now just using pentax.

(Politically correct hat off)
Honest reply from me is that you should consider selling your Pentax stuff and getting the Fuji.

Yes, the Pentax stuff is a bit harder to get right off stores, esp. the 3rd party stuff.
Distribution and presence is the distro (APDS) job, so I won't make any apologies for them.
Can't help you too if Orient Photo decides to close early for CNY (but do try to call again, as they can be very busy and not answer calls... I've experienced that too )

However, Pentax users when buying into the brand (knowing that its less well known) is usual the tenacious type that either can wait a bit for stuff or can source around or go to the shops that stock the items.
If you find yourself getting frustrated with no immediate availability of the items you want, the system in place for this brand may ultimately just not suit you.

So its either :
1. Start finding out the Pentax friendly shops that carry the stuff.
2. Sell off and buy something else and not let this eat into you.

Over the years, I've seen this a lot (not just Pentax), some guy buys a camera, gets frustrated with it, it eats into him badly over the weeks/months.

So frankly, consider your options.

Vincent,

When you bought your body, did you do research about the brand?

Pentax is one of the cheapest systems you can find, but trying to find 3rd party lenses for it is difficult as not many 3rd party manufacturers build for Pentax.

Most of us who buy Pentax will buy the same brand lenses, not 3rd party ones.

If you really regret getting the brand, then go for Fuji instead. Be warned though, the lenses are more expensive.

Fuji is a well-advertised brand, even they are using same sensor size as pentax,

if you check the IT shows often, the price list are as expensive as Canon-Nikon full frame cameras, and sometime more expensive than their entry level full frame.

basically you buy the branding, like those clothes, big luxury brand are more expensive than normal brands.

luxury brands are well presented and well sold, as the profit margin for them is big, seller tends to store them.

small brands are well suitable for people who knows what are needed what are not needed.

-------------------------------------

most people who just jump into photography, we will probably jump into big brands, as they advertise more, so you either get big brand top expensive model, or lower-spec less expensive model.

for pentax ones, you can get better spec-ed model at cheaper price. but you either read about Pentax before or you have a pentax user friend.

-------------------

two of my friends are were new to photograhy, and they asked me for advice, I told them if their budget is big like 1000 SGD+, go caniknon,

if your budget is like 500 sgd. go Pentax and 2nd hand gear.

then one of my friend got a Pentax K30 + kit lens for 599 SGD, and happily shoot after.
and the other of my friend got a 2nd hand K-01 + kit lens for 250 SGD, and happily shoot after.

also you need a know-how friend to get best deal for Pentax, as you need a lot of guides on Pentax stuffs,a bit more exclusive consider the large population of Canon Nikon people.

often my friend need a lens, I help them to sort out and check for them on the 2nd hand market. I got them the cheapest deal in town, as you need a eye on the market to get best price, either during promotion or 2nd hand deal checkup.

Thanks for all the suggestions ..anyone out there selling there HD lens or Ltd 35mm..

try out DA 18-250, go out for a month and shoot as much as possible then look thru all photos and see what is the ideal focal length then get the lens. Otherwise you end up spending thousands getting lens which you do not need. Join outing, sure you got AL. Take it on special occasions and feel everyone's lens before making decisions. Do not buy recklessly and you be good for 10 years, after that you can decide to dump pentax just like scrapping cars in singapore after 10 years

pentax lenses are really affordable for the quality. Your photo blur is not only dependent on the lens but also what settings are you using. Is your IS disabled, shutter speed, iso etc, very common for camera to select non optimal settings if using on auto.

Do some research go online for better bargains, export lenses are much cheaper than sold locally if you are willing to take the risks. Check B&S, Screen protector can get from ebay/taobao/amazon for less than $10.

nowadays most dslr are good enough already, skill is more important. if u own $2000+ dslr, but you can only produce subpar photos, maybe iphone would be a better choice.

pentax has been offering best value options for many amateurs and professionals

sometimes you will be surprised how a 50 bucks 18-55mm kit lens can produce such an image
