mm..seems they give diff answers to diff people..I wonder if its the same sets we are talking about...for me they said new, that is why I did not buy them...trying to buy cheaper second hand sets!

The Nikon has more reputation, more options and better longevity when it comes to after sales support but I really really really really like the small size of the pentax....since I am not into "pro", I guess I can survive on the kit lens and maybe one more as long as the equipment is reliable and does not break down for years. of course, the price helps very very very very much too!

I'm also considering getting a DSLR in a couple of weeks and am looking at the ists too.
I agree that lack of 2nd hand market for Pentax is a big minus.
Some friends have been egging me to change system, but the fact that I'm already on Pentax (film/manual) system and the Pentax DSLRs are considerably cheaper than most other system, I haven't found a compelling reason to switch camps yet.
I just looked at the specs on the Pentax website for ist DL and ist DS2, there doesn't seem to be much difference between them besides the size...
Can anyone enlighten me on that? TIA.
PS - Anyone upgraded/upgrading and want to let go of the ist DLs may want to PM me...

you can do a side by side comparison of specs from letsgodigital.com or some other review sites.
From what I've noticed, DS more autofocus points, faster autofocus, smaller lcd, bigger viewfinder and uses pentaprism.
