Obviously the MZ 5 is another cuttle of fish, with a body basically made of plastic, but taking into account what has always been Pentax philosophy, you can be sure it is worthwhile what you paid for it.I mean the quality/price ratio in Pentax is fairly better than at some of the so-called photography giants

Earlier up on this thread I mentioned I noticed the increasing prices of Pentax equipment, particular in the used lenses department. What I really like about (the old) Pentax is exactly what you mentioned - the quality/price ratio. The K-mount forward/backward compatibility is a huge added bonus. With recent interest in Pentax equipment and an increase in demand for Pentax gear, I suspect this ratio may no longer be as favourable as before.

hi pentaxians;p im tempted to switch back to pentax due to the built in SR in the bodies.Do you think it would be a good idea o ket a K100D to try out 1st?how well does the SR work?any K100D user can share his/her experience?like for example how many stops lower u can go and the noise level.im currently using a C and i was attracted to it because of its low noise level at high iso.How does the 100D compare?thanks

Hello Redsun!
I have already upgraded to the K100D but I know nothing less than the K10D would suffice for you!
But here is a sample of the SR performance :

Anyone know where I can get second hand Pentax K mount lenses? Just restored my dad's old Asahi Pentax ME and it's got the 50mm f/1.7 but I'm looking for a couple more - maybe a wideangle?

You can try Cash Converters. I saw quite a few at their Toa Payoh and Ang Mo Kio branches. Most generic branded ones.

Cool, thanks for the tip!

but beware....they are in the glass cabinet, so you can't see them properly and most of them are not really in the "well-taken-care-off" catgory. I mean if I had a good lens, I won't sell it to the karang guni man, right? Unless I inherited it and have no idea what to do with it...
