IMO, no point spending $350 just for such a purpose. This is not the cheapest and easiest teleconverter to get for Pentax. For macro, esp extreme macros, a Raynox, extension tubes or a cheapo reversed lens will get you the magnification at lower cost. Much larger magnifications as well. If its with the intention of using it as a teleconverter and the use with a macro lens is in addition to it, then its yeah; why not.

ah... i see... i was thinking more along the perspective that its a multi-purpose tool... can use as high quality TC, and to increase magnification for macro if necessary.
agree with you that the availability is a problem though
Leong..I have this teleconverter..IMHO,maybe not worth to extend your 100mmf2.8 with this. You will get lessthen 200mm and aperture will be affected by the same factor. Getting a 50-200mm might be better andcheaper. If we do meet at the next outing....u can try my before u decide.

expensive toy lah... not really necessary imo... TC with the contact for powezoom / SDM will do.
i wonder if pentax will invest R&D in a WR TC... that's really a missing link in their current line-up. :think:
imagine: K5 + 1.7x WR TC + DA*300 :lovegrin: full WR assurance while birding...

Few months ago I asked about this TC but the sales don't seems to know this product.
But they can bring it in if you are able to provide them the part no & if it's available in Pentax Japan.

frankly, if there are a lot of interested parties, maybe someone can do a bit of organising and let one of the trusted shops know of this and do a mass order through them... with a guaranteed number, it will be more worthwhile for them to bring in and hopefully, charge a reasonable price for those who ordered.
its a business decision ultimately. if only 1 or 2 pple say they want, emjay may not entertain and the shops would never bring it in in case they get stuck with goods that no one wants.
any shop that can secure an order for 20 - 30 teleconverters will definitely make a bit of money... in the end, shop happy, pentaxians happy, emjay also happy.
worth considering? :think:

But CN brand TC also not cheap either. :sweatsm:
Emjay can still bring in this TC loose unit together with dslrs/lenses shipment.
Maybe they may need the customer to pay a deposit 1st.
