would be a good idea to build a website showcasing your work instead of asking potential customers to go asking for service.

You need to showcase pictures that related to what you want to do, many people would prefer to see what you can do, not imagine what can you do.

For shooting PR event, better show some pictures of award presentations, group photos, etc. and show those pictures that only official photographer able to capture it.
Go volunteer your service to RC, CC or charity organization, get the changes to cover their event, you can build better portfolio that way.

For shooting weddings, you still have long long way to go, but you can start covering some ROM events, For many ROM event, couple still rely on friends or relatives cover the event with a PnS, and I believe you can do better than this, but please let couple know your limitation first.
Go and help out as many weddings as possible, as a observer, know the flow, know the customs, see how other photographers work. From this way, you will learn better.

Thanks for ur advice... i will try to do wat i can to have a website and my family members and relative and friends r all too young to get married so really gt no chance to go try shooting... then will u can let me help out in ur wedding shoot and be a observer coz nt many ppl r willing to share their exprience and they scarced their ricebowl will be snatch... ;p

thats my thinking but i have approach a few but then all only verbally said alright if gt assignment then let me help out but nt all r willing ma... sorry for being so straightforward here... ppl who don like wat i said.. i am sorry but i myself will continue to find ppl who can let me help out to them... even though some have rejected me.
