Some very nice panaromas!

Megaweb, your Photoshop technique articles are fantastic! I've just found them and am already looking through old photos that I thought couldn't be saved!

Here's one from Jurong Bird Park recently..

Just testing out close panorama..

Who needs a fisheye or a wide lens?? :bsmilie:

3 shots at 14mm stitched.

This was taken back sometime ago... Used the FE lens to take the pano shot.. took only 3 shots to get a 360 degrees view of where i'm standing..

Wow! Impressivo Panoramic posting guys! So many things to see in one picture!
May I know what are the techniques/skills required to capture these magnificent vista?
So many things to ask.......shoot in manual mode?, manual focus? tripod required? :dunno: ......thanks for sharing in advance. ;) Cheers!

Exposure: Lock your exposure from the first shot, can do manual too but I find Exposure lock easier to use.

Focus: Depends on the scene. If its a distant landscape, you can can get away with auto focusing. If its like Tomcat's #2, you might want to consider manual focusing.

Tripod: Preferable but can be done without tripod too. The trick is to twist your entire upper body to pivot around your waist. Don't just move your arms to shoot.

Thats what I do for my panaromas.

A 1000 Thanks my friend! And one last question......how do you guys manage to stitch various shots together so seamlessly?......without any visible/unsightly lines?

Don't rotate my whole body now. I find that the rotation point is actually lens based. ie the nodal point. So nowadays, I just rotate the camera.

For software, there are many free and paid ones. I use the Panorama Maker by Arcsoft.

Wow....the nodal point....very technical! Thanks for the link, Blu-By-U!
I should try to experiment with the Pano Vista shot one day.....Cheers! :)

hmm hopefully you still have original. why not photoshop and dual layer it but put the lighter one on top and darker one below, then adjust the opacity of the front later but you need to make it like ND grad filter, where the top more transparent than bottom. The original photo has really nice sky. Edit version lacks that puchy sky. plus the rainbow look nicer with darker sky.
