certainly. a unit is beign reviewed by hosea now..look forward more improvement in LX7.
i personally would wait for more review between LX7 vs EX2. RX100 is now out from my list, at SGD999 is really too much to ask for.
Agreed, $999 is too close to the entry-level m4/3 cameras for comfort. I would be considering the latter if my budget were around one grand.
On the other hand, Panasonic sure made an unusual decision to use a relatively small sensor for its new flagship compact. In fact, the LX7's 10MP 1/1.7" sensor has a higher pixel density than the Sony RX100's 20MP 1" sensor (which has nearly 3 times the area). I am having doubts about the level of details it can capture, and its noise performance. Comparison shots on various review sites are not very encouraging, either. To be fair, though, everything else about the camera is pretty great: the fancy Leica-branded lens, the abundance of external control points, the high-resolution screen, the ability to plug in an external accessory.
Let's see what Olympus will come up with (XZ-1 successor) to compete.
