I just did a reset on the Leica DLux and the flash unit is working now. :)
Guess the camera settings somehow goes haywire

The camera look different and 'new' with leatherette. Guess it provide better grip too.

Make sure that you were not on silent mode. The electronic shutter will forbid the flash from firing.

It seems that if I am in electronic shutter mode, the flash won't fire.
Only in mechanical shutter mode than it will fire.

Yeap. It works like that. I had the same problem with my fuji too lol.

Hi Lx100 user. I am thinking of getting this camera for time lapse. Like the function that the camera can generate time lapse video in camera. Wonder whether it can do it in 4k. Another question is the battery life. Can we use external power bank. Thanks in advance.

I am a user. I don't think the Timelapse can do 4k. Only 1080p. Maybe a firmware update in the future.

And no. I don't think it allows external? We take out the battery to charge.

The original battery life is good. I bought extra OEM battery but did not get to use them.

IIRC, yes, it can. These are the options available:

You can download the manual for more info. Pages 153-154.

Not officially. There is an optional DC coupler available (DMW-DCC11) that is designed to be used with a Pana AC Adaptor. If you want to use a power bank, you'd have to find a way to mod it such that it has the right socket and voltage.

Here's one example of a 3rd party product that was designed to work as an external battery pack for the gh3/4.

Thanks mod for the reply. Will check out the details.

Wow! Cool. I didn't know can make 4k timelapse

my gariz 1/2 case came in from korea yesterday.. bought the black one, matches the camera well!

the pros:
• adds a grip which I feel the d lux is sooo missing,
• fits very nicely,
• up to personal taste but the black one further adds the classy look of the camera
• access to battery and sd card compartment (vs the official leica ones which completely blocks the base)
• can still use tripod mount

the cons though? tripod mount is a bit off centred, haven't tried it but i'm not too sure if it can still balance on one of those mini tripods. it also adds a bit of bulk so forget about putting the camera in your jacket pocket when overseas. and 1/2 case is more like 1/8 case.. if you're thinking of using the case to protect the camera from fingerprint smudges etc etc, look elsewhere.. really, the only only added benefit i can see from using this is the addition of a hand grip + protection for base of camera
