Panasonic LUMIX DMC-LX100 & LEICA D-Lux Type 109

Coming from a Sony 17r user, i keep mistaking the Wide-Tele zoom button for the on-off button. haha.

Btw, after i have used the zoom assist to magnify and confirm the focus, how do i remove it from view (apart from pressing the shutter button to take the picture)? Thanks

From the manual:

Closing the MF Assist
••To exit MF Assist, press the shutter button halfway.
••You can also exit MF Assist by pressing [MENU/SET].
••When you display MF Assist by turning the control ring, MF Assist is automatically ended approximately 10 seconds after you finish the operation.

Roughly how much is the auto lens cap? not looking at the expensive leica one.

And how about original battery? How much would it cost?

the lens cap for lumix is 30+ - 40 if i rem correctly, check back a few pages on this thread.

battery original ones cost more, 60-80+ i think. same batteries as some of the lumix series like GX7 GF6 if i recall correctly.

Got the silver auto lens cap at SLRR at funan for $33 On the 13 Jan. No stock for the black ones on that day.

I may just get the auto lens cap from SLRR (if still available). Is this shop a good place to buy 3rd party batteries? I remember they only sell 1 brand for the 3rd party ones. Is that brand ok? Original one seems to be over my budget.

I suggest consider the original battery once and for all. Third party battery usually can't hold charge and drain off fast if kept unused, taking much lesser shots and some say will experience sudden death.

Otherwise, you can also consider the smaller capacity BLE9 which produce fewer shots and is priced lower than the BLG10.

Hi everyone, i was planning to go for a rural trekking and bought too many OEM batteries. Plans changed to go to a civilised place instead.

If anyone is interested, please let me know.

My 3rd party batt for Nikon died when I didn't use it for long time, I think the charge totally depleted. Even so, buying another one is still much cheaper.

Hi All,
Saw many requests for silver version pic, so here it is. Paiseh to post such pic. :) Taken with iphone.

Just came back from funan. Some shops u can bargain the black auto lens cap until $40. Screen protector $8. Original battery I know slr revo sells $35, 3rd party $9.

Slr revo still no stock for black auto cap. Otherwise silver is $33.

Also bought 3rd party charger $17, can buy additional brackets for different brands of cameras @$5. High speed charging at 1000mAH output. This is twice the charging speed of original charger.

By the way, there are a couple of things I would like to seek advice.

1. Do you find the charger taking too long to charge a battery? If you go on an overseas trip, how many batteries do you bring along and how were you able to recharge all of them in a night? I doubt you would set an alarm just to replace the batteries from the charger in the middle of the night, do you?

2. Do you set your focus mode to AF, AF macro or MF for most of the time? I just realised that AF macro can also be used for tele. Hence, would you agree that it can be the default mode for overall convenience?

3. How do you activate the panorama feature and is there a shortcut I can assign it to quick menu or a button?

4. Wondering most of you use a neck strap or a wrist strap or nothing on the LX100?

5. Any idea how to do a continuous face-detection focus mounted on monopod / selfie stick? My experience yesterday was not great. FIrst, I mounted it on the monopod and set to 2 sec delay shutter with face-detection focus . Then I turn it around, pointing towards my face, press shutter, lift up monopod away from me and it took a picture after 2 sec. When done, I realised that the focus was off. The choice for delayed shutter was not great, either 2 sec to take 1 picture or wait 10 sec to take 1 or 3 pictures. Just wondering what are the workarounds for taking selfie on this camera.

6. 1 battery can last u how long for overseas trip? 3 batteries u think enough? Charge daily at night in hotel.

Thanks in advance.

Wah, $35 for original battery is quite fair. GH3 original was around $100+ last I checked.
