Extracted this shot from Panasonic GX8's post focus feature. So fun Anyone else tested this yet?

Used the 30mm Macro lens. F5.0. I shot it at ISO1600...(a mistake on my part)

Hi LP, can you focus stack with the post focus feature?
Ie. will it automate and output an image with 'infinite' DOF because it has recorded all focus points from near to far?

HI Swifty

There isn't such function. It outputs as a 4k 2sec file but u can choose the different focus shots and output for focus stacking. For still macro I suppose this is useable.

IC. Yes I was thinking for macro this would be very useful if you're willing to give up a bit of resolution. I'm sure this wouldn't be difficult to implement in software given all the focus information has already been recorded.

At 30fps, my guess is it can accomodate some gentle movement? Beyond that will blur.
No idea until they bring this to the GH4

Limitations

The Post Focus process is designed to be used with scenes that are primarily static, a fairly severe limitation that Lytro cameras do not have. A person walking across the frame will possibly never be in focus, and panning the camera during the exposure just doesn’t work. When the camera records it needs to be looking at the same content it looked at when it did the pre-exposure scan. You can have running water from a fountain, for example, as the stream of water doesn’t move, but anything shifting about in the frame upsets the apple cart.

Yes, that's correct. Also, if say low light, there's a chance if movement on subject or camera, there will be motion blur.
Will be doing a talk this Sat, if free can pop by, there will be GX8 then to test out I'm organizing some info and shots now, will post up here too. Hope they will bring this to GH4, since it's still flagship
