Why do you need both GX7 & GX8 ?

Curious with the upcoming post-focus 4K Photo mode.

You do not need to buy a spare battery as the package now comes with an additional battery.

The model of the battery for GX8 is BLC-12E. Not sure what is the model for GX7. Just in case you're hoping to use the GX7 battery on GX8, the answer is you cannot. The battery in GX8 is bigger than the one in GX7

Not too sure of the price but can call any of the shops at the Funan to check.

I have used Panasonic batteries in GH3, GX7, GH4 and now GX8 ... and touch wood so far so good, haven't encounter any problem.

If anything, it's the 3rd party ones (i bought DSTE to try for the GH3) that have some contact problem and even then, it only surfaced after the battery age is more than 1 year ...

thanks. I think the Nikon one was isolated to a specific production batch of the EN-EL15
Haven't experienced any issues with the GX8 batteries during my short span of usage, and also the GX8 battery has been used in the GH2 years back, so shouldn't have any issues.

Not that I've heard off. I've had DMW-BLF19 (GH3/4) battery from 2013 still performs quite okay. Anyway, Panasonic doesn't have the same battery age feature in the camera, so can only tell by actual usage.

instead of spending $70 on a spare, why not get a used older GF series as a 2nd body? Can mount a nice prime on GX8 and a pancake zoom on GF
