Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX8

Does the GX8 use the same battery as GX7?

Don't laugh, I didn't know what was a bokeh, needed to Google to understand .... :embrass:

There is nothing to laugh at because everyone needs to start from somewhere.

Bokeh, is the part of the photo (usually background but can be foreground) that is blur. It happens because of the shallow depth of field (meaning the area in focus is very little). So those location/parts that is out of the focus areas are blurred.

These blur areas are called bokeh.

There are some experts who go into how nice the bokeh is, how creamy it is, it is round or ellipse, how is it rendered ... but these are another topic altogether which I myself also dono how to see ... :dunno::bsmilie:

Hope that helps ...

The 35-100F2.8 is a must get lens for panny m4/3 system ...

Totally agree! Only other fast lens with similar focal length is the 40-150 /2.8 from Oly. But the Oly lens doesn't have OIS

Already missed the Oct boat due to tight wallet ... :embrass:

Wonder what the Nov's promotion gonna be ...

Update:

Checked various shops, the deal is the same as Oct's deal.

Comes free with one 16gb card.

Free 1 extra battery & 16gb card to be collected from Panny.

Lowest price quoted is $1,445 for 14-42 kit lens ...

cheers

Ok, this afternoon, I succumbed to temptation !

Bought my GX8 this afternoon, comes with free bag and 16gb card.

Will have to collect spare battery and another 16gb card from Panasonic Service Centre ...

So, to use the dual stabilization, I need to upgrade the firmware of all Panny's lens ?

Thanks

So now that I oredi bought the panasonic pz 45-175 mm
I do not wish to 'duplicate' the type of lens range, or should I just get the 35-100mm F2.8
Any suggestions for my third lens to combine with my other lens?

I have
1) 12-35mm F2.8
2) 45-175mm F4.0-5.6
3) ?

Below is my personal opinion:

1) 12-35mm F2.8 keep this must have lens
2) sell the 45-175 and use the money to buy 35-100 F2.8
3) Buy the Olympus 75mm F1.8

My lens currently:

12-35F2.8
45-175 PZ
25mm F1.4
Oly 45mm f1.8
