Hi, I'm considering to purchase either the panasonic or the canon and was wondering if any bros out there could provide some advice on which would be a better video cam.

Purpose of the video cam is to record my holiday trips.

Panasonic HDC SD700 i am looking for one but $?

* Advanced 3MOS System and Leica Dicomar Lens
* Full-HD 1920 x 1080, 50 Progressive Recording
* 240-GB HDD and SD Card Slot
* POWER O.I.S. with Active mode
* 35mm Wide-angle Lens with 12x Optical Zoom
* iA (Intelligent Auto) with Face Recognition

how much local is selling??? hehe target one also but i want to get panasonic one

Just played around with the SD700 yesterday and was totally floored by some of the features.
The OIS was the best I ever seen on ANY camera. Full tele and full wide made little difference to the stability of the shot.
Focus assist comes with color peaking! Blue outline appear around subject if it is in focus.
Full manual control over AGC. Amount of AGC can be varied. About 6 different levels.
VU meter for audio.
Low light was unbeleivably good for a 3MOS 1/4". I don't know how it is possible but it produced less noise than even GH1/G2.

these 2 are in my consideraTION as well, any feed back?

Canon HF S200 seen to be bigger as in size compare to HDC-SD700
