Panasonic G5 Hands on

The idea is for people to buy the GH2 or the coming GH3 if they want every single feature.

Hi, have you test out the HDR mode? is its selectable ( i.e. as similar to NEX in A, S, M )? or just as a scene mode as in the canon 650D ( auto only ) please share? any web page to have a look at the user/ops manual ?

I have no idea since I've not played with HDR mode in NEX, its just a scene mode and they layer it in camera, not really exactly HDR to me, looks more like WDR. I ahve no idea if any page has the manual yet, but you could google it

Here are my sample pictures, sorry I took so long as I took quite a number before short listing what to show. Most of them would be taken in iAuto mode, as well as the creative filters. If they're neither, they're shot in aperture priority and compensated using exposure compensation. Do note all these photos are OOC and no PP has been done on it, not even to correct tilts

High ISO image, this was shot with ISO 6400 which is the absolute max I'll go, in case you've not seen the ISO 12,800, please check page 1

Dramatic tone on an old shop which has not been rented out for a long time

I shot this with dramatic tone without looking cause I didn't want the old lady to be upset or something hence the tilt

Shot with the 45-150, what caught my eye was the cloud formation with MBS made it look like a whale

I nearly missed this shot because of the way the AF points had to be chosen, as I said, something that needs to be improved, not easy holding the camera on my right with the screen flipped out to shoot waist level and choosing AF points with it

Kit lens can focus decently close and be share, but requires manual focus like this

My colleagues somehow managed to convinced me to shoot this lady, her pose quite nice, didn't have the tele lens mounted on though

My colleague kindly acted as my model, though I must say, I didn't do a good job shooting her hahaha

As much as it looks like I used studio lights or something, I didn't, it's as is

I used the toy camera effect which is basically pinhole, and through the bus window, really made it look like it was from some toy camera since it isn't 100% sharp, IMO

How do you find the color reproduction? Coming from Olympus.

Hmmm.... I find it a little flat and low contrast? Can always change the color settings, but i leave my settings as default out of the box, occasionally I get pretty good colors, but often its flat

Have they finally gotten around to implement the control menu the same way most cameras do?

This shot does look soft ...
