I am gald they realised the back looks awful & the new one has a nicer smoother looking back. The first one the back just look like the back of a tipper dump truck.

My batt grip failed on me today. Was working fine then the buttons when kaput. :(. Good thing should still be under warranty. Gonna take back and see what happens :)

The local distributor is pretty good so you should not have much to worry about bro. Just bring it back and they should sort this out for you.

Got mine old BH-E51 replaced with BH-51R plus a small topup. Was worth it. Now if only Ownuser makes for E-1 and E-3.Service was great there.

How much do u top up for the 51R? Do they accept trade in or wat?

hi guys i have a E-410 wif the E-410 batt grip..it is normal that the cam shows me battery empty, but when i use the same battery on the cam without the grip, there is still about 50-60 shots left?

I bought mine recently as slightly used from egnaro. It's the E51R, and the good thing is that the supplier gave him a new and "corrected" unit, before he sold it to me.

I remember he had problems with the battery draining so fast when we had an outing in Sentosa before. Looks like it's been fixed with this unit. So far so good .

The only thing I find unusable is the 6xAA battery holder MEB-01. I tried putting in 6xAAx2700mah but all i get is a full power battery indicator and a battery empty a few seconds afterwards. But then again, I might be using it wrong, because I just plugged the MEB-01 with the BLM-1. It's no biggie, as I don't see myself using the grip with the external battery holder anyways.

The grip feels stable enough. In fact, I am confident to carry it around slung on an RS strap attached to a flash bracket that is attached to the E51R grip, with the FL-36 flash mounted on the bracket as well.

I'll do a field test of the grip and its battery power this weekend and let you guys know how it goes.

Thanks and hope you enjoy your grip... I believe you can tell that it is almost brand new from store.

haha

Btw I believe you will not be disapointed with the performance. my max shot with the previous grip before change is more than 1.2k with 2x 3rd party batt.

abt the ownuser grip for the e420..any lag ? since it supposely using the ir to trigger. does it respond as fast with the batt grip mode?

not sure abt E420, but on E510, no problem on this issue.

Using IR to trigger will def cause lag. I was using ownuser for my E500 previously.

Today,I just called Lau Marketing for the Ownuser grip for E510. They quoted me $168. Read that the price was $130+ exactly a year ago.

wonder if they will give me a discount if i asked when i go and buy it in a couple of days time? i will try my luck

Well i just got one for my E420 at $168 with gst last week at Lau Marketing.. the funny thing was, when i called in last month.. i was informed by this lady who sounds quite annoyed at me for asking her if they still have stock for my model and how much will it cost. She said it was $168 excluding gst. That means its $179++ net! I told her i thought it was for $168 net. She then said in a rude tone "Ya lah gst go to government what! Not me!" So i said thank you and end the call.

However last week was different, i called in again for the sake of calling and was this time answered by a lady called Linda. She was very nice and quote the cost to me at $168 with gst. With that i asked her to reserve a set for me and got it that very day. Only thing now is the ir remote is not working. *darn* I hope i can get it fixed since its still under warranty. :)
