i only asking who wants to do the MO, not who wants to join the MO (that i will do)
haha.

but nvm i sent them an email ....

Does such a product actually exist? Or is it just vapourware?

From what I read at DPreview one of the user saw and used the actual thing at the fair.

Who's the user? If u can dig out the thread link that would be good...

I just received a reply from Ownuser. Please see below. The appendix that was sent to me includes description and prices for all their products.

I'll be glad to forward the email and attachments to whoever is keen and has experience in conducting a MO. The VC is available for KM5D, KM7D, Sony A100, Nikon D70 and Pentax istD. Including the various users would probably help the MO and drive the price down.

Hi,

So is anyone doing the MO?

If U are please keep me posted. i'm definitely in 100%. Thanks :bsmilie:

I defintly intrested to be on the MO.

It's real thing

 must ask my friend to get it for me during the weekend!

i don't get the design. why can't they make a slot for the 5D's battery door like the vg on the 7D, and mould a battery insert like they have for the Nikons and Canons. then they can take away the external piece of battery connection. looks like they blindly followed the DIY mods on the forums.

Hope this is not another build-up that leads to nothing ...............:)

i emailed the company's trading partners liao, apologise for the slowness. will keep everyone updated. hope to make the MO a reality, but might require interested people to pay upfront first....not enough capital....haha

Any indicative price ? Is the A-100 grip different from the KM5D grip, or both using the same grip ? Thanks.

Hi guys,

This will be my first post.. I'm currently in taiwan and manage to get the grip already...

Hi guys,

i have finally get hold of a batt grip for 5D

Not bad actually...

The fall back i felt are two wires running out from the vertical grip. one is for the DC power and the other is for the remote shutter.

Which aesthetically looks messy especially if you have the strap on. Looks like you have lots of cable/wire running up and down.
Also the wire running from the grip to the remote plug has a little problem (for me that is), the rubber cover of the remote wire seems to be obstructing the head to plug into the 5D completely.

The built is some what plasticky, maybe to make it lighter, but has the same rubber feel with the grip of the 5D, which feels good.

the price is around USD100-120.

Will work even with only 1 battery NP-400...

Sorry for the poor quality of pics, taken from a camera phone:

looks good... except that cable is quite a turn off :(

so what yr verdict worth getting one or not?

so what yr verdict worth getting one or not?

As for me, if you feel that when you shoot vertically, are you haveing a hard time getting your shots or do you feel it's ok...

basically the batt grip is shutter and vertial grip, without the control dial.
