For those own 24-105 F4 IS.
Do you have impulse to get the 24-70 F2.8.
Just spare your view.

Ya I almost got it on impulse last night at Seoul Duty Free. ~ S$1750

If you just want a poll. My take is im happy with the focal length of 24-105 and the IS performance. Rather spend the $ on primes.

Agreed. I would spend $ on primes as well. ;)

Has anyone every noticed that the 24-105L is quite a bit wider than the 24-70L at 24mm?

I've seen a lot of UV and UW copies over the past 12 months and everytime, the 24-105L is wider.

Have both the 24-70 & 24-105.:D

Use the 24-70 for indoor shots & the 24-105 for outdoor & travelling.:)

Both are great L Lenses. get it if you can.

I pick up 24-105 for its reach. Actually I will be getting a copy of 24-70 when I have saved enought for it. I have tried the latter lens, besides the bokah, somehow I find it have a better colour productions.

If you have read reviews that compares between the 24-105 and 24-70, you'll know that it's not really worth it for the 24-70, unless you 'die-die' must go for 2.8. Other than that, the 24-105 beats the 24-70 head down in terms of colours, focusing, reach, etc.

So IMO, not worth gettign the 24-70 unless you really need the f-stop.

Just curious, care to share the links of the websites which mention what you said above? Reach I can understand but colours, focusing? An f4 lens can focus faster than an f2.8 lens?

For focusing, any reason why a f4 lens cannot focus faster than a f2.8 lens? The 85mm f/1.8 lens is the fastest focusing lens Canon has ever built so far. It definitely beats the 85mm f/1.2 L in terms of focusing speeds.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

It would be nice to add the 24-70 to the collection but at this time, I'd rather invest in different lenses (fish-eye or dedicated macro).
