If you don't know what to do with that old desklamp....
I wonder if you can get away with not using a sandbag if you form a C-shaped structure with 3 of these.

I was in an operating theatre recently and got to play with the light abit, recall thinking to myself the manouveribility of the light was awesome, you could position it almost anywhere in that 3D space just by moving it and letting go. No clamps or knobs to turn. Super cool. Caleb's rig seems like a cool way to achieve some of that.
