outing for ilight marina bay

I have notice there are some interest in the ilght marina bay event. So i am thinking we could have a group outing. Details are as below.

Meeting point: promenade mrt, outside the station 7-11 store nearer towards the exit A
Meeting timing and date: 9pm, 11/03/2012, sunday

Processed the stick men lights last night. Result not very good .

Think of reshoot those tonight. The lamps are ok.

Will bring along a DSLR to confirm the metering

The stick man is interesting... subject lighting is randomly changing and the intensity of light varying...

Park Vehicle at Esplanade Big Durian.
Walk towards the direction of Helix bridge. You will see the all the lightings on display.

The Stickman with Marina Bay sands is a focus area. (if it does not rain).
The Art Museum will have projection of images. Timing is before 9pm.

For ASA 100 film exposure is at F22 at least 3 minutes to get MBS to appear on film.
The Stickman will have a series, they can repeat many times still ok if using print film.
Exposure less than one minute will get very poor record of MBS as back ground.

Went down on Saturday with family. The stickmen are made up white tube lights. made me have a headache with their music and flashing. -->Stickmen
There are a few colored stick men (a pianist, guitarist and drummer) in front of the Esplanade Outdoor theater.


I like the projection on the Art n Science Museum wall. The static image when it is not playing the movie is a group of butterlies. --> butterflies


Shoot with negatives. I may went down end of the week also.

u shoot color slides or bw fi lim? i dunno.. i sort of imagine these lights will look better in color ..

I think it is a relative thing...
you get brighter background ( MBS ), the subject will be over also..

I think , it will be good to use GND ( graduated ND ) filter during the night shoot. You can tone down the bright "stickman" and still, able to get good colors at the back.
Something worth a try ... I am not sure weather 2x GND is good or one piece of GND will be enough... I wish to get all "stickman" lighted up... but some slightly brighter then the other...
