photographers shoot 3 things driven by
1. commerical interest - something that is deemed attractive to the general public and sells
2. something that is attractive to the photographer himself/herself (self-explanatory)
3. something that is inspiring
i guess if i'm to shoot a male, i will prefer to shoot a wide old man that looks like fidel castro and xanana gusmao, and certainly not those boy bands kind of looks, which is not inspiring, and in my perspective and circumstances, not attractive to me.
anyway, i'm dun shoots models. i shoot my family and friends, or anything as part of travel photography. so there is no conflict of interest and i'm not trying to defend anyone, just like to point out that what a photographer finds is attractive to him is subjective and can be gender-biased. it doesn't mean that if a male photographer only likes to shoot young attractive women and old wise man but stays away from young male models, he is a pervert. it is just a natural element in a photographer who is a human being, not a robot.
