Hi,

I am getting married next year in December and will be looking for someone or a studio to do up my wedding photos in June next year.

I have heard that it is cheaper to get the photos done in JB, Malaysia and was wondering if anyone would like so share their experiences on this (both local studios and Malaysia studios)? Please feel free to express any opinions, as I am sure they will greatly aid me in making my choice.

Professional photographers or interested photographers can also reply me if they are interested.

Thank you.

Sincerely
Hak Peng

do consider the package offer to u....like make up(natural or u like red red 1) ,no. pic given to u, no. of gowns(hav to be nice & fitting), color of the pics......babababa.....go for a walk then before making a decision........;)

JB is definitely cheaper. If u have the time and trouble. Go for it.

Hptay,

U may wanna try top floor in CIty Square,JB. There are many shops that specializes in wedding photos with a variety of
selection on gowns & etc. Besides that u can try Taman Sentosa
and Taman Ungku Tun Aminah. Do a survey and get quotes from them. They have many samples to let u see. Btw, congrates on ur marriage ;)

There's a promo at Suntec lvl 6 right now. some studio cum wedding shops setup there.
On the entrance, there's a Kowloon bridal store setup. Their price looks good and value for money for the package they provide. Go take a look.

Dear all,

Thank you very much for all your replies. My fiancee and I should be planning a trip down to the suggested places to get quotes. Btw, we would be most interested to hear form wedded couples regarding their budget for photoshoots and the packages that they got. I guess till I personally make the trip down to JB, I am still very sotong about such things ~ hee hee

Thanks again! ;)

Sincerely
Hp

my friends just took their wedding photo this month. The package they choose costs RM2280+-. Shop is Millan Photo in Taman Ungku Tun Aminah, about 30km from JB. There are MANY photo studio in TUTA. Santiago uses fully digital now for their wedding photo.

Usual price range is RM1800~RM3000, extra charges if u want extra prints.

In terms of package from Singapore or Malaysia...

Factor to consider:-

1) Do you drive (or have a car?)
reason being travelling to JB between June and Dec :-
1) select gown
2) try gown after altering x 2 or 3 times if not done to your taste.
3) photo shoot (outdoor)
4) photo (indoor)
4) choose photo for photo album
5) collect flower / gown before wedding
6) return gown before honeymoon

etc

Base on the above factors, I and my wife choose Singapore as I do not drive and travelling to JB takes too much of our time.

Hi Ninja,

Congragulations on your marriage! :D

And also wow! thanks! We would be most interested to look at your wedding photos :)

other than the 'cute cute taiwan style', what other type of styles are there? So far, I have only seen one type where they do extensive 'make-over'. My fiancee and I would prefer to keep the make-up simple (non for me if possible. hahah ~ but i doubt so)

Thanks.

Got a package

12"x15" (28 pose)
10"x12" (x1 with frame for tabletop)
Tabletop album 10"x12" i think (same pics as 12"x15", 28 pics)
Tiny album (3" i think, 20 pics from 12"x15")
1x 20"x24" frame (can change to 2 10"x12" w frame or 4 12"x15" to your album)
1x Special guest signature booklet (which features a wedding photo and definitely keepable compared to just a plain kind of signature album)

The rest are standard fares like free bouquet, free car deco, merc E200 (new model). up to 7 change of attire for photoshoot etc... minor fares which can be easily negotiated, like I got mine to have 2 night gowns + 1 bridal etc....

Hi Shadus,

Wow! sounds like a wonderful and complete package. :) When you mentioned about the E200, do you mean that they also include car rental for the day of the wedding? Would you mind telling me which studio you went to and how much was the package?

I was wondering with regards to the photography on the actual day of the wedding. would it be advisible to engage the same studio to do the shooting on tha actual day itself?

I also heard that arrangements can be made for the crew to come to Singapore to do outdoor shoots for the wedding album. Has anyone done this, or would it be better and more fun to do the outdoor shoots in Malaysia?

Thank you. These advise are indeed extremely useful and valuable in helping my fiancee and I decide on the photography packages.

Ps More photos has been uploaded to http://www.pbase.com/hptay. Feel free to make any comments ^_^ ~

Mine is a singapore package. I'll IM you later after I confirm with them something tht's niggin' at the back of my mind. Cost $2988.
Yes, the car is to service the couple during the actual day of wedding.
I don't intend to do shooting on actual day as I feel that'll be too tiring. Outdoor shoot will be done prior to wedding day.
If you do take up malaysia package (which I wanted to...but too lazy to make so many trips there, and I dun wish for a situation when the bride runs out of patience for making these multiple trips), yar, if u do take up in malaysia, i would tend to go wif the idea of shootin in malaysia, at least scenary is different from singapore.

Hee hee,

thanks. So when's your big day? ;p

Not decided yet :p
err...btw, how do you choose your wedding banquet? and where?

ack!!! my very long post got lost in the process of submitting... :rbounce:

T_T ~ heres a summarised summarised version.

Well, there are 2 basic choices. To go with restaurants or to go with Hotels.

~Hotels~
:) better deco, more posh, ample parking, easy to arrange for extra such as pre-dinner cocktail, projectors for slideshows or movie.
:( costly, basic table starts at $600, beer is not freeflow, cockage charges for wine and liquor.

Restaurants
:) better food, good price. Basic start arnd $300. At $600, you can get very yummy food. Free flow beer, no cockage charges.
:( parking spaces largely depends on locaiton, poor/recycled decos (not as posh as hotels).

Between atmosphere and food, my fiancee and I chose food and we feel it leaves a more lasting impression than atmosphere. Currently, we booked out dinner at Dragon Gate (world trade center). Best to book early as the good date are usually reserved 6-12 months in advance.

feel free to ask me anything. More stuff can be found at http://www.femalebridesonline.com/wedrl/resturants_catering.php

^_^

Have you considered country clubs? They seems to give a good in-betw type of package.

we want good food + good atmosphere
haiz..... :p

we have given it some thought, it does seem like a good idea. The only problem is that most of the country clubs have their desiginated caterers and wasnt to our liking. You migh end up paying hidden cost for the location and catering.

I recall one wedding in the papers. This couple held their dinner in a white tentage somewhere in Tampinese I think. It was extravagant. The tengate alone cost $10k (it wasnt those obiang red kind used in pasa malam), its white kind. I thought it was very nice, but hee hee, no aircon... sure very hot one.. expecially for the ppl in tux.

Some ppl have suggested hosting them in Safra clubs. Heard the price is quite reasonable too.

^_^

btw, this is the place where our dinner will be held. ^_^ got some small pics of the place, prices and menu too.

Check out the package deals. its a good benchmark to what you should be getting from other place as well.

There's this other shop that is recommended

Fame Bridal

They can offer similar package and the staff is knowledgable and friendly. Didn't sign up wif them coz they came too late, unfortunate.
