Injunction to do what? Stop the firm from trading?

If the supplier refuses, CASE can escalate it to taking out an injunction/declaration action against the supplier provided they get approval from the Injunction Proposals Review Panel.

There are no criminal sanctions as of yet for an unfair practice.

However, I don't think they were being unscrupulous . . . maybe they thought I looked streetwise enough to see grey or gray.

Injunction to restrain the supplier from engaging in the unfair practice identified.

i think vital information that must be informed in every such deals should include

1. how much is the nett price after what kind of inclusion e.g. GST?
2. what set is it? 1st hand, 2nd hand, grey etc.?
3. what components are covered exactly?
4. where to go for after service and what after service covers?

Cute. It might create a double or triple negative situation, ie to stop the supplier for not telling their potential customers that the products are not warrantied by the local agent.

What is penalty for violating injunction? Is there a fine or jail?

Well in this case, if it is really granted, the injuction may be a mandatory injunction to compel the supplier to inform the customers (ie the net effect is still to stop the unfair practice). An injunction can not only be prohibitory (stop someone from doing something) but mandatory as well (compel someone to do something).

Well violating an injunction? Its contempt of court lor, can go to jail for that.

the problem is not with the penalty but how to prove it. customers can always lie and accuse of shops not saying it or failing to get the message across. or it could be simply the retailers forgetting to say it. we need hard evidences for law to proceed, for example germs growing in food samples in unhygienic restaurants.

to issue out penalties may be a bit too heavy for such issues. i believe there are far worse business ethics that is existing or even prevalent. perhaps it is more important to issue out punishments for those shops. it could be a fine. but i think the better way of punishment is to suspend its opening for a duration, for example a few days to 1-2 weeks if serious mistakes are done.

Agree. Though at no time she she did tell a lie, I believe that the customer should be duly informed abt what he is getting and what he is not. The fact that she held these info from the customer says bery much abt her and the shop. Like "telling the truth but not the whole truth", it's equally bad.

If you are highly determined to get them - bring a recorder along and make a trap purchase :)

Actually, TCW is quite a realiable shop. They sell you Gray set at Grey price. So you are really just paying for what you purchased.
I had seen shops trying to sell gray set at the normal pricing, that is even a lousy shop.
The other shop I recommend will be MS Color in AMK. Not the cheapest in the market, but service is good. The price is normally the same if not it will not be more then few dollars differences. This beat going down town, squeeze with people. Jam in traffics....

i second that. their prices are comparable to alan photo yet service is much much better than alan photo

I totally agree on TCW's good and friendly service . . . guess I should have asked abt warranty instead of being so overwhelmed by the new camera . . . until blur.

AMK is not exactly very convenient for us living in the East.

So have to bear with the crowded city streets.

BTW, always wondered . . . why aren't there any good camera shop in the East?
