OMD EM5 spare battery (where to get it?)

TK has them too. Just called David to reserve one.

Just bought mine from Alan Photo (Sim Lim Square) for $95. Limited stock only. EP-11 eyecup is not available.

What to do? I also know expensive...

But "Far Water Cannot Save Near Fire".

Aiyah... no choice but to be chopped lor.

i think i will wait for aftermarket batteries that can be charged using the stock charger :)

I have now cycled the cells through an analyzer and they measure around 1001mAh, which is close enough to 1020mAh when discharged down to 3.2V. Probably with more use, the capacity could improve slightly towards the rated capacity. This means that the cell rating is correct at 1020mAh.

Do you think the labeling of 1020mAh is reliable or could it be exaggerated? What about keeping their charge, is there any difference compared to the original one?

Congrats! I guess I need two of them, too. Did the shop staff mention when they get new batteries delivered again?

got one from TK.
one would think that given the price, Oly could've at least provided a plastic cap for the terminals

No, think still in short supply.

Gratz, on D3 launch day... I think I bought the first one.

Pretty amazed that given the price, the packaging is lackluster especially in the fact that no plastic case is even provided to protect the contacts.

I've had better experience with 3rd party batteries done better in that area.

Picked up my BLN 1 from TK this evening. They have a few more.

Forgot about this thread... Cathay had them in stock yesterday evening, too. Artworkfoto had them as well for a cheaper price but they got only 3 pieces so I guess they are already out of stock.

Can you guys please comment on the recharge times? What is the time generally required from a full discharge to full charge and does the oly charger charge at a noticeably different rate than the ebay charger? I'm heading out to Yellowstone in a few weeks backpacking, so if it takes on the timescale of hours for one battery I will need to bring quite a few as I'll only be at a power source for a short amount of time.

Charging time is around 2 hours. Haven't used 3rd party chargers before.

I'll not patronise AWF anymore since they sold the battery which I reserved prior to someone else, no matter how cheap they are selling it for.
