OMD E-M5 Bag???

TS went MIA after trying to ask his gear. Here we dunno what his 2 other lens are and we have all the recommendations. More poison than proper advice.

Well, even with the 2 biggest lenses I think most of the suggestions would fit :P I love m4/3!

Yo just landed in foreign soil after a long flight. Thanks for the many options! I think my most common lens would be Panny 16-35mm + 45mm and one of those tiny table tripod (not sure wat is the name). I do not mind dismantling the lens from the body. Biggest problem is i carry a backpack. I tried using a Crumpler 5million (the smallest model) but its way too big.

Ok i'm pretty impressed with the Bradley Pro.. is there only one shop in SG that has it? Whats the price range? SGD300?

I'm using Domke F-10 as my walkabout bag for the OM-D mounted with Panny 12-35, and another 2 partitions for Panny 45-175 and Oly 45 + small flash.
Since you'll only be using 12-35 and 45, you can store the tiny table tripod in the centre partition like in my photo below.

The front zipper compartment is quite big and I can store the ori charger, blower, filters, etc. I'm sure the Oly Fl-600 flash can also fit inside.

For something smaller, I'm using this Artisan Artist. It can still fit OM-D mounted with Panny 12-35, and another partition to squeeze Panny 45-175 + Oly 45.

I've owned Crumpler 5MDH and Hadley Pro before, but I sold them when I changed to m4/3 set-up.
They are just too big for my set-up. The Hadley Pro is selling for $350 brand new.
You can get them at Orient Photo, Chiif or from Mr PK Chan at Kembangan, the distributor.

My first "real" camera bag was a Crumpler 5 Million Dollar Home. It was fine for my 2-lens DSLR setup but nothing else. That was when I learnt that the bag must be able to contain other essential travel items as well. So I sold it and bought a Billingham Hadley Pro which gave me a little more space to work with. (Interesting fact: it was Kai of DigitalRevTV that got me interested). Later on I kept the Hadley Pro when I downsized to m4/3 and found that it was just right for traveling with a m4/3 system. You'll be surprised how little things add up when you are in a foreign land.

I basically divide the internal space into 3 compartments, with two smaller side ones and a larger center one:
1. Left compartment: 1L water bottle (just nice and very useful)
2. Center compartment: E-M5 body, 12-50mm lens, 25mm f/1.4 lens with hood (doesn't matter which lens is mounted, they can easily fit)
3. Right compartment: camera accessories and valuables (plenty of space for wallet, passport, phone, etc)
4. External pockets: maps, tickets, tissue paper and other misc items

The loaded bag is comfortable to wear all day. It also fits under the seat in front of you when on an aircraft, so you won't need to put it in the overhead compartment if you don't want to (i.e. if your passport and other valuables are inside). Best of all, it is weather proof so you never have to worry about your gear getting wet before yourself. (Tip: keep a disposable poncho inside the bag!)

By the way the TS said he is going on a business trip. The Hadley Pro looks great with smart casual wear and has space to contain A4-sized documents or an iPad. Definitely worth the $300+ IMHO.

Personally I use an SLR case (hoping to get the CS-36FBC soon), and each lens is in a lens pouch...and all that is tossed into my daily use backpack which can carry books, and up to a 15" laptop.

widget, thanks for introducing me to the Artisan&Artist brand. first time i've heard of them so i looked them up.
love their bag designs! particularly these two:
Artisan&Artist* Bags
Artisan&Artist* Bags
how did you get yours? are they available locally?

For me I just put the GH2 + 2 lens into a drop-in padded bag (can't rem the brand) and throw into my regular laptop backpack... I find this the best way because 2 of the camera bags I have can't carry other bring along like laptop, ipad, milk bottles.. etc..

The Artisan & Artist bags are available locally but not sure whether shops here carry all the models.
I bought mine from Orient Foto, SLS. You can also check with Mr Tay of De Camera Consultants at Guillemard Rd.
There's also another shop at Peninsular Plaza Level 2 that also carries A&A product.
Can't remember the shop name's though, but it is exactly facing the escalator.

Thanks Widget, the Domke F-10 looks interesting as well. I think Cathay photo has it right? Any other shops to check out? I will prob choose bet the Domke and Harley Pro. I have the impression thatboth bags are of similar size but i may be wrong..

Why do you need Hadley Pro when you have a backpack? Try a Hadley Digital or Small. I have the Hadley Pro and Small, both sitting in the cabinet as I want to be discreet and use a pouch from Thinktank in my Backpack.

I got the Domke F10 from Cathay. Size wise, it's smaller than Hadley Small or Crumpler 5MDH.

The backpack can only fit my 15" laptop, i put the OMD in the front pouch but there r loads of stuff together. Always worry about the body getting scratched n its hard to take it out. I might use the Hadley pouch sometimes when getting to the hotel n stuff the bag in my suitcase so that i can use it in the evenings if i have the time to go out.

Convenient to share how much does the F10 costs? Also can the front pouch accommodate an iPad or MacBook Air 11"?

Can try Hadley f-stop 2.8. It is very compact and can fit em5 with vertical grip and even the largest m43 lens that I have - Panny 100-300. It also fits iPad. Perfect bag for em5!

Bought mine for $12x few months back. I'm afraid there's no way an iPad or MBA can fit into the front pouch.
The most can fit Tab 7". If you insist on something that can accommodate iPad, try Think Tank Retro 7.
