btw just got my FL50R flash from MS today, $720:sweat:

i see..

Thanx.

Yes. I m sourcing for DSLRs for myself and currently comparing them.. More likely, leaning on 4-3 systems, for light weight and cost effectiveness..

Phil.

wow..really envious.

Top of the line, environmentally sealed "full frame" cam at $2499 including grip.:thumbsup:
This is the kind of price we should all be spending man.

Compared to 1dmk3....$6400+ and got recall problems....1.3x crop. 1dsmk3...dun need to think about price..

compared to D3 that will be $8k? full frame.

Entirely different leagues, I guess. Oly doesn't exactly have a full frame at the moment =p

Eh but I think it's a good enough deal. Problem being that I don't appreciate the extra weight of the grip, and I don't need that extra bag. If the E3 would go for 2k without the freebies, I'd get it for sure. At the moment I can't be sure of offloading the freebies for $460 or so...so I guess I'll wait. haha

the 4/3 format is full frame. the e-system will never have a full frame body unless olympus decides to abandon it together with the rest of the 4/3 supporters.

4/3 full frame, all ZD lenses are designed for the 4/3 sensor size.

its just not 135 full frame, with lenses designed for the 135 format.

will the D3 hit $8k? i thought it would be more affordable than the 1dmk3s...

By the same token/reasoning, a Nikon D40 with DX lens and a Canon 400D with EF-S lens are also both "full frame" cameras. In fact, almost all Nikon and Canon DSLRs are then also "full frame" if used with DX and EF-S lenses respectively. Even the 4-year old old Canon 300D is also "full frame" with EF-S lenses if Canon users decide to use the same "full frame" term as what some Olympus users like to define "full frame".

Muahahahaha. :bsmilie::lovegrin::sweatsm:

haha you're right if you put it that way, of course. But I'm sure you know what I was talking about =p

why not? the 4/3s format was never designed for 135 size sensor in the 1st place. like your example, DX and EF-S lenses are not designed for 135 sensors as well as it is optimized for the APS-C sensor size. 4/3s and 135 formats are different. just like how medium format and 135 are different. its comparing apples to oranges. ;p

You see, by calling any single format "Full Frame", it'll just cause nothing but confusion.

If you call 135 format "Full Frame", then what do you call 645? "Larger Than Full Frame"? Then imagers larger than 645, "Even Larger than Larger than Full Frame"?

So just let FourThirds be FourThirds, APS-C be APS-C, 135 be 135 and etc.

Really, this "Full Frame" issue is getting a bit stale.

BTW for this promotion price listed. Is the body alone or with the Kits lens? Referring to E3.
