Hi guys,
I'm a regular Canon 1000D User. But recently my uncle hand me down his camera, the Olympus OM10. I have never owned a film camera before, and now I have a film SLR. I have found the manual on the web. But I have a few questions left unanswered. I'm very excited about taking pics with it.
The OM10 with me comes with a Zuiko 50mm F/1.8 lens. Is there anyplace or anyone I can consult to handle this old beauty.

As for the OM10, it was the last of the pro models. It'll give you good performance, especially if it came with the manual adaptor.

Hey everyone i'm selling some OM lenses from my personal collection. No exotic stuff, just selling those that i have too many copies of. I have a couple of 50 1.4s, and a few moderate wide angles. At last count i had 14 50mm 1.8s. now i'm down to 4. They are all in good condition. What can i say? i'm a zuikoholic. PM me if you're interested. Or take a look at the BnS thread.

You can buy the foam from Japan, Aki-Asahi website, and do it yourself, but I believe the OM-1n (not the OM-1) and 2n have prism foam, tough to work on even if one manages to remove the cover.

The late MC ones? frankly i've tried the MC and late MC variants for several focal lens and found no discernable difference. I can't seem to find late MC versions sharper or higher in contrast or whatever compared to the earlier MC version although there is quite a stark contrast between earlier SC versions and MC versions in terms of flare.
From my observation, late mc versions (that had the "MC" designation dropped) have a greenish and purple coating whereas the labelled MC versions are just purple. The greenish coating is apparently a more modern multicoating which you see on many modern lenses and even eye glasses.
Also while there were often lens design updates accompanying changes from SC to MC. I don't see why it would make sense to change the lens design from MC to late MC. By then almost all new lenses were multicoated and AF systems were starting to come out.
Good luck in finding your lens. I read the 24 2.8 is pretty good. Just like the 28 and 21 and basically most zuiko primes

Well, it's just nice to have the later ones. I don't have the luxury to go comparing lens versions, so I just try to take the later ones of the focal length I like.
At any rate, MC is just added protection and can only do so much. A hood will provide more protection ...
