sorry to notice the replies so late... actually I'm a promoter at the Olympus dSLR booth... anyone interested in the cam can come look for me.. Name's Lihao. I'm the tallest guy at the booth. U get cam from me, I get u something extrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrra ;)

u all wan to buy in bulk? lol maybe can get better deals lol! If I'm not ard, look for johnathan. He's my tag team buddy. Juz inform us that u're from CS, we'll close the deal asap once u're happy with the cam. Something extra is a gurantee... I have abt not much "ammo" left to play with if ya know what I mean. 1st come 1st serve basis :)

Hmm.. is there a problem with the photoshop software? i can't install it in my laptop. invalid serial number. Can advise what to do? Are there any other customers who have this same issue?

Just purchased this bundle at the IT Show.
My first dSLR after many years of point and shoots, am quite excited about my new purchase :)

I am in the exact same situation as you. Bought this bundle on the first day of the IT show. My first DSLR too. How's the camera working for you so far? :)

Alamak. Already bought mine. 2 days ago on friday.
So far happy with this cam. Still playing around.

Also my first DSLR! Used to own an old SLR.
Buying this for a long trip. Will show the pics if all turns out well.

Just this afternoon around 7pm, i bought one set.

after bargain with the salesman, i got extra one batt. and 2 UV lens.

it seems the hood would not be useable when using 14mm for 1445 kit len.

Hi, has anyone tried registering for the online web hosting service? It says that I have an incorrect email address, which doesn't really make sense. It seems that I have to go by the snail mail method & mail the flyer given.

Huh? Hood is not usable at the wide end?

the tips of hood would be seen in photos when using 14mm

i've been using the 14-45 kit lens and shooting at 14mm most of the time and never did the hood tips appeared in any of my photos.

i think you put it wrongly. try to allign the white arrow (not the grey) to the white dot on the tip of your lens when you slot it into the lens.

thanks for your help!

may i ask on question. How to dismantle the lens from the body? it seems quite difficult to dismantle the lens from E500, the room is not enough for my finger to insert and push the red dot down. maybe i totally goes wrong way?

I think you pressed the wrong button, read the manual, it teaches you all the handling basics.

Anyway, to remove the lens from the body, see my picture below. Once you press & hold that button, hold the lens and body firmly with both hands, give it a twist, you should be able to remove the lens now...

I wonder if anyone ever took out your lens without depressing the button???

thank for your help me on such a silly question.

thank you for helping me! this is a really silly question.

I am learning!

Can you remember who served you at the IT show?

The Red Dot is only a guide for INSERTING the lens onto the body...there is a red dot lens mount on the body and you line up the red dot on the lens...match those two red dots up and you can install the lens.

Suggest you read the manual again (if you haven't already done so).

We have all been there before... Everyone has been silly before we learn, right? So no questions is too silly...

I do agree that the red dot is misleading sometimes :bsmilie: Always had the impression that it's the lens release button until I had a chance to play around with the camera.

Seems like there are quite a few ppl who got the camera & are also 1st-time D-SLR users :D Can't wait to go out shooting, but busy schedule in sch :dunno:

I think the gathering for new users is going to be really helpful for those who have recently ventured into DSLRs.

Dylan, From the Icon of your personal profile, it seems you are the person served me. am i right?
