I appreciate the discussions in here that is leading to comparisons with cameras from the other platforms. But I do appreciate if one would bring the discussion on specifics on other makes to their respective forums within the boards to further find out and investigate why they are better.
Cameras are tools, and whatever tools can still produce pictures, because having a good camera system (of your choice) and good shooting skill is one half of producing a good picture these days, the other half being able to buy the right post processing software (of your choice, again) and having the right skills to do manipulate the images on your computer. The camera system is very much a personal preference thing. I like Oly for the reasons I have stated many times within this boards.
If you are still curious about comparing what is good and bad, then I would suggest you join shoots organised by those in the workshop section, meet up with fellow photographers, shoot the same subject with the various camera system available there, meet up and compare the images. You will therefore get a much better idea on how every system fare. This is the best way, to compare from shooting a same subject under the same lighting condition. You will definitely get a much better idea and would greatly help you to make up your mind.
Or better still, go to the manufacturer and ask them about their strengths and weaknesses in their camera system (always ask the technical people, not the sales manager, unless he is honest and you know he is). You then hear it from the horses' mouth about their good and their bad.
The last option, is of course, hanging out and making friends at camera shops and ask the "old birds" for their advise.
