You guys are sickening... always making me feel demoralised about shooting nature... I don't think I want to spend any more time to shoot these things... you guys are so good at it now...

Handheld HDR of 3 shots @ Zürich, Switzerland!

adrewine bro, how didcha take that low shot; previewed using your LCD screen?

I think the hint is the railings. He shot from another road below the road shown there or from the middle of staircase.

This HDR treatment I quite like. Subtle.

The 2 ducks on the other hand look a bit artificial to me. Are those the pair of ducks are actually added using photoshop or is that another HDR experiment you did.
There are extreme contrast shift at the surrounding of the duck and the focus is a bit odd (may be due to the contrast).

2 Ducks on a Rock @ Rapperswil, Zürich, Switzerland

Thanks saymell and aryanto for the comments and feedback.

1st of all both pics are HDR of 3 shots type of +- 0.7EV. the diff. is that the 1st one was shot handheld and the other was shot on tripod b'cos of low light condition at dusk.

Yes, the Rapperswil Castle shot was taken with the help of LV, in fact most if not all my difficult and/or perspective angle shot and including sun flairs shot are all taken with LV. LV to me is an indispensible feature that I cannot live without (articulated screen even better)..........that's one of the main reason why I bought this particular camera in the 1st place.........I simply cannot understand why some people say it's a useless/redundant...........hehe........wait till you reach my age then you can fully appreciate what I mean!

Anyway, the 2 ducks shots to me is rather interesting in that it has an optical/visual illusion and a surreallism look to it.

The pebbles in the foreground looks near and clear I think this is due to the refracted light and calm water.
The white streak in the middle ground is cause by the reflection of the clouds onto the lake and the moving ripples.
The 2 ducks look kind of funny and unreal is because I think in the midst of the refracted light and reflection, the directional ambient lights has somehow able to cast some shadows of the ducks and the rocks onto the water. All this HDR high contrast thingy throws you off balance visually I think.
Furthermore it was taken under cloudy WB setting to gives it a even more surreal effect to the dramatic sky and distance objects.

Well there you have it. Sometimes one has to be bold and experimental in your shots. Many a time I just go with a gut feel to a shot just by looking at the light.
The best part is that you'll never exactly know what you gonna get and then you PP in your emotion into achieveing the end result of the image that you had created in the mind in the first place.

Below is one of the shot straight OOC at + EV, just to show you what I mean.

Thanks for taking time to read my comment.......it's just to share my thoughts going thru' my mind at the time of the shoot.

Cheers!

Hey! You! Tourist! Feed me now! Hey!

Ya! This bold fellow wasn't afraid of the tourists around him at all.
I guessed he must have been waiting for a free hand out!
So I told him " Work for your Food". Then he stood there and posed for the CoverLooks shot.......hehe.
Cheers!
