I have finally gotten an external flash and I am about as happy as my little nephew about it:

Pardon this simple shot but I can hardly capture such a candid indoor shot with ease, sharpness and brightness before the external flash.

Just 1 word to describe. NICE !!!!!

Thanks cater I'm glad you like it.

The ubiquitous "Eiffel Tower" lookalike tall structure is the "The Arts Centre" of Melbourne which can be seen from anywhere along the Yarra River.

Yo! Adrewine, very nice night shot series, good composition and exposure. Look at the sharpess, contrast and colours of the night shots, I really can't tell they were from Olympus kit lenses.

Once again, you have proven that Olympus kit lenses are really value for the money.

Hi marky, this is exetremely sharp! Is it the 50-200? handheld?

I used the 35-100mm lens... taken at f2, ISO 200 handheld. I was lucky to have avaliable lights there, if not it will hard to take.. haha.

I'm not sure whether is it appropriate to post this shot, I just find it interesting as it is like those toy houses with miniature furnitures.

Moderator, please tell me to delete this post if it's not appropriate. Thanks.

Wah! the 35-100 taken at wideopen F/2 still so sharp. I a bit regretted missing a chance to get it 2nd hand at $2.6K.

Many thanks ttiongch for your kind comments and compliments........
Capturing still night shots with sturdy tripod and kit lenses would not posed problem with sharpness issues provided correct aperture and accurate focusing are selected accordingly.
Most of the MEL shots are taken in the cold winter weather and rather strong breezes and drizzling rain...all this can take a toll on your mental state and affect your shots.

However shooting people in available light as in street photography with kit lenses with smaller aperture ranges is a totally different ball game all together.........I must say very very very challenging!

Challenges come when you have to think on your feet with your limited gadgets as to how best to capture a shot.
Often times many factors such as people dynamic, compositional strategies and difficult/different lighting sources/direction etc etc had to be considered.

It is precisely this sort of challenges that keeps me going and still sticking to my kit lenses otherwise I'm afraid with a faster and better lenses it might just take away alot of fun in street photography. Of course many times I do wish/dream for a SHG lens to play with......

Well having said all that, I guess it's just me kind of thingy stuff that I like to do......no offense to all those guys out there.
Cheers!
