I know this is not the photography section, but I hope nobody is complaining. If it offends anybody, I just remove the thead. I thoght it was an interesting experiment to use the 40-150 for city scapes. I think I will do it again some more time. It definitely gives a different angle of viewing things, not the standard tourist image, like the last one.

Hey OlyFlyer, looks like you forgot that there is this thread for you to post your images! So I have move it here. Cheers.

happy new year! shot with live view on e510. :D

Nice! Live view?? Wow... battery drinker!

Nice. I find #9 particularly intresting. The gold just pops out from the facade. Did it look anything like the pic in real life? You can see history stained and dripping down the buildings. At least there isn't a starbucks in #10.
Thank you for commenting. Yes, it did look like that in real life, at least as I saw it through the VF. I didn't manipulate the colours, these are raw images, converted and resized.

I like number 5,how that only that staute is gold while the rest are greyish black, like how a leader stands out from a crowd, but some pictures seem to be slanting
Thanks for the comment. In fact, in #5 it looks as the two pidgeons are following the leader's command and just going to attack the crowd below.

As for the slanting, yes, in fact most images slant. It is very difficult to get better positions using a 150 mm lens for these kind of images, and yet able to avoid slanting. The slanting is caused by the impossible angles I had to use. Remember, the images are not cropped, the are just resized. Anyway, I am not a lanscape expert, and I really tried hard to avoid it, and spent a lot of time looking through the VF to find the best angle. For the last image for example, taken with the 14-54mm @ 14mm, the only way to avoid slanting would have been to get to the center and up about ~10-15 meters in the air. I wanted to get the left wall straight and was aware about the right wall slanting, which was a compromise. Well, one can't get everything, with the 14-45 I would even have gotten barrel distortion in that image if I have used that lens.

In fact, I did not forget, but I think this thread has outlived itself. The reason why I say so is that in my opinion there are too many images jamed together, not possible to follow, which explains the very low hit rate, IMHO. Actually, looking at the hit rate 27,606 that sounds a lot, but if you divide with the number of posts, 665 then the hit rat is only 41 per posts, which in my opinion is very low. Maybe I am doing math the wrong way, but considering the number of pages and posts, I think it is a thread which is not possible to follow up on, because it is not structured in any way, just a big pile of photographs. It is like if I removed all my slides from their holders and just put them in a pile in the middle of my living room and asked people to look at them and comment them. Except that in that case, they would at least be only my images, not mixed with a lot of others as well.

So, if you ask me, I do mind moving my images, and if you would have asked, I would have prefered to be removed them all together, instead of moving them. That, I would not have argued against.

nice nice.. i like how your foreground blend into the whole pic...

Thks.. i was hoping the tree dun spoil the pic too much..cos it was really in the way and no matter how i moved, its in front of me!!!

Very nice! Could you share the settings to achieve this shot? Thanks.

Thanks. I set the camera at iso 100, f9, shutter 4 secs. Used zuiko 14-54mm lens.

Sorry about this, my friend. Do you want me to remove the images from here? I think they are nice images and should be kept and shared.

*Whew* This thread sure is long and tedious to 'follow through' when I try reading from post #1 till post #600 whatever, everytime... :bsmilie:

Thank goodness new postings always surprise me with something wonderful that I needn't really bother to look at the older ones. Sort of a daily 'picture feed', analogous to the daily 'news feed', but without the depressing stuff.

Don't worry, no problem. Just keep them here now.
