Oly equipment failure...


Looks like mode/power switch failures are a common item across the entire E range. My problem started with the camera powering up in 'random' modes, which I ignored and it progresses to difficulty turning on.
E-510s, E-520s and E30s seem to have had very similar issues with the same control.

This control dial/power switch seems to be a weak point in the family design.

Excluding E-3, which do not have a mode dial! :bsmilie:
 

most likely within the new generation,after the E-500 including E-3
 

My EP-2's shutter button was spoilt exactly 7 days after I purchased it.

I would have definitely gone back to where I bought the camera and demand an exchange, for selling me a lemon.

Although I would be nice at first, "I bought this camera from you a week ago, and it doesn't work." I'm sure they get people all the time who say that and in most cases it's user error...but of course after trying it they would realize the issue and if they are a good store exchange the camera.
