Oly 12-40

able to pre order lens only?

nope for preorder :)
Best solution is find your fav retailer and place an order. I'm sure there r pple who just wana buy the EM1 body alone too.

or simply wait for them to appear in B n S.

the 20/1.7 MKII already showed up on the 1st day of GX7 sales so don't worry abt waiting too long.

able to pre order lens only?

Confirmed an order today for the 12-40 lens alone.
If u r interested let me know :) will be able to get the day when the kit set hits the shops.

But disclaimer is that my friend is actually doing a favor by selling the lens from the kit set; hence pricing confirm only later (but confirmed way cheaper than 12-35 la)

Spoke with one of the friendly store at funan... accordingly to them..... the Oly 12-40 WILL be cheaper than the Pana 12-35..... that's kind of good news.....

One reason I suppose is that oly lens doesn't have in-lens stabiliser.

was there image comparison review between 12-40 vs 12-35?

It seems interesting because Olympus' most expensive micro Four-Thirds lens so far will be a good value. That's a change. :)

I find switching between Olympus and Panasonic zoom lenses weird - they turn in opposite directions!
Panasonic is like Nikon, Olympus is like Canon - well, at least the lens mount locking direction is fixed ...

Interesting. When I'm shooting sports, I have one of each I'm using. Don't have time to think about it.
