Yeah, the Tai Chung departmental store. Used to go there when i was a kid. Climbed the flight of stairs and the store has 2 units on the left and right. I think my dad bought me my first china made basketball (Gold Cup brand) from there - no budget for spalding or mikasa back then.
The kopitiam below Tai Chung has a goreng pisang stall if my memory serves me well..when the bowling alley was still in operation.
Hope the pictures will leave some memories for generations to come.
While Tai Chung was on the second floor, there was an Oriental Emporium (long liquidated) selling made in China food stuffs. And, yes, the goreng pisang was good then.
Thanks for the opportunity to re-live a part of my past for a brief moment.
With every ending, comes a new beginning. I can already see the renewal of Margaret Drive from the days of my youth.
The last ime I was there, the wet market building (with the chicken rice stall) was still standing. Is it still there?
