Life in Fast Lane
Every morning, people rush up these escalators. The same crowds rushing down to go home in the evening. With life in fast lanes, where are the colours of your life? Take time to smell a pink flower, to watch the sky's blue, the clouds brilliant red in the evening, and tell your loved ones - I love you...

Technical details: D70, Sigma 10-20mm, 1/3s, f41/3", F4, 10mm. Desaturation with contrast adjust.

nice b/w , i like the movements.

your shots are incredible. the sunset so beautiful, where's that taken? and it sure feels like life in the fast lane in the 2nd pic.

The sunset was captured in Thailand's island of phuket around patong beach area.

Beyond basic needs
Singaporeans have progressed much in these years. Air-conditioners used to be sheer luxury for many. Now, almost everyone has one installed, and many are multi-split units which are so much better than the conventional and noisy single unit sticking out of the wooden hole provided by HDB.

Technical details: Nikon D70, 18-70 kitlens, 1/250", F8, 22mm. Minor levels adjustment.

wooh i really like this one!

true true..my parents' room still have the air-con 'hole' :bsmilie:

i've been sleeping without the 'comfort' of an air-conditioned room most of my life ... i'll get the chills if i do.

The flats in the picture belong to the old HDB type, still have aircon hole (see second floor's aircon hole still intact!). I am so used to aircon now that I cannot sleep well without it... haizz.... cost of living goes through the roof! :( :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

My house also have aircon hole,so meaning i live in a old flat.hehe...

Hmm.. my flat at least 18 to 20 years old liao... built around 1987

welcome to APAW! three great shots to start things off!

thank you, zaren. it's has been a challenge to find meaningful viewpoints for shooting...
Ganbatte! 懸命に耐え、働かせなさい Endure and work hard :)

Here's one more to make up for the past weeks:

The Strength of Rain
20 years of rain has rusted through the pipe holder's iron. Water is perceived to be soft and lacks strength, taking the shape of its container. But water has a quiet strength, shaping the shorelines and creating river meanders. Do not underestimate the strength of water.

Technical details: Nikon D70, 18-70mm kit lens, 1/400", F4.5, 56mm.

Ah! This is nice. :D

I like the feel of the picture, plus the b&w composition gives added strength to the motion. The reflective aluminium made it more interesting. :D

I've got another one that holds similar concept of escalators but different composition & different place.
