[Official] X-Pro 2 Thread : The Pro Returns

My thoughts: technology in Xt2 has reach a pinnacle in photography in a sense it's future proof. I don't see any limitation in its usage for any, if not all forms of photography. Ymmv

I know how you feel.

I love my X-Pro 1 and invested in a couple of X lenses but sold body thinking it was too darn slow in autofocus. But after a few months of cold turkey, it began to dwell on me that I do not need the speed. And I missed the crisp pictures. I realised that with proper photography fundamentals, I can take equally good pictures fast. Having autofocus on this awesome rangefinder already make it more versatile than a Leica (and I love a Leica too). A few months ago, I bought a second X-Pro 1 because it was very affordable and never regretted.

Now, I can't wait to get the new X-Pro 2. I'm torn between the black stealth or graphite.

There are faster cameras out there, but I dun need them. I have clarity in what motivates me to shoot. It is not just the amount of technology packed into a camera body. It is the emotion that camera bestowed.

If you started shooting film, you will know the feeling.

Just like size, speed is not everything. It's the skill that counts.

I was initially keen on the XT-2 but it felt very awkward and weird in my hands. The Xpro2 on the hand just felt right. I know of the differences between the 2 cameras so don't have to get into details.

I just want to know why you guys chose the xpro2 (especially for those who bought it after the XT-2 was released). My heart is set out on the xpro2, but my brain is still trying to justify it.

I do mostly street, landscape and occasional portraiture. Dya think Xpro2 would be a good fit for these purposes (well obviously for street it is, but how about landscape?)

I can tell u why I didnt take the xpro 2... I like the form factor of xpro2 .. But xt2 is more versatile and I like the bigger evf on xt2.

In terms of performance and IQ, the differences are negligible.

I chose XPro2 because of the form factor. When using the viewfinder, I can still see the whole scene with the other eye unlike XT2.

Some ppl may say the grip is too small but when I use bigger lens, I will just attach the handgrip and everything feels more balanced.

I guess for now I'll try out the xt-2 and xpro2 in the shops again before I decide. Hopefully I can make the right decision! It's pretty much a brain vs heart case for me right now haaha.

Today Fujifilm has announced a cosmetic update to the flagship X-Pro2 with the Graphite X-Pro2 kit (with accompanying graphite XF23/2)

Is this already available at local stores?
Anyone knows how much?

the graphite black X-Pro2 was out for pre-orders and is in very limited quantities (I don't think they expect to sell much of this too hence the limited qty). Maybe u can try asking TK Foto ? If they don't have , I guess your best bet will be Fujifilm Studio at Suntec itself.
