probably means tweaks to sharpness, contrast, etc on the creative picture styles

what do you mean by "presets"? honestly i don't get what you mean

Preset means other than the standard setting.

If you shoot together with raw and JPEG (changed to other like contrast, sharpness, saturation) your raw file still no affect at all and only your JPEG. As the the name implied "Raw". If you have raw file then u are more on safe side as no matter how mess up the JPEG is, u still can edit your raw. Thus shooting raw + JPEG is a good practice.

Thanks. Means it's safe for me to have some presets in case I want to use some jpegs 'pre processed'

probably means tweaks to sharpness, contrast, etc on the creative picture styles

i see. the Creative Styles.

in that case, i think that jlee1974 should actually learn first that you don't need to set to RAW or JPEG before tweaking settings.

the same settings will apply to both RAW and JPEG.

just that when post-processing, while both images will look roughly the same, the RAW files give more flexibility to change exposure, white balance, Noise Reduction, tone curves etc. and this is in stark comparison to JPEGs where you can't change anything.

Btw anyone using the LR 5 to edit the raw can kindly advice what is the general value used in the post process of the raw file.

Anyone tried Sony HVL-43M Flash on their A7/Rs? Would like some inputs... Tks... Or any other good ones to recommened (3rd party?) that can match the HVL-43M?

The HVL-F43M seems to mesh well with the A7. I've found only two caveats:
1. Live view doesn't always automatically refresh after the shutter is fired. I'm not sure if there's a built-in delay to allow for flash recycling time; but if there is, it's too long. The workaround is to click the EV dial back and forth by one detent.
2. Spot metering doesn't seem to make any difference in TTL mode, and I assume that's by design.

It's a pleasure to use, recycles quickly, and appears to have no overheating issue. The head can be adjusted to bounce in portrait orientation as well.

Show us the shots?

The 43m seems to be unable to tilt backward like the 42am

No problem if bro kei1309 is a little shy . . .

I'm not!

Per bro Thoth's request, even though it's OT: NEX-7 and CV 35mm f/1.2 V2…

Probably around f/2…

Ooh my bad then, I told bro Jlee1974 that the settings won't be applied onto raw. Paisei paisei
