HK got stocks , if going there its cheaper by 100-200 dollars I was told today, by a tourist friend who is in HK now haha.

I had planned to see if I could find one today. But--as fate would have it--just yesterday the thin metal plate at the bottom of my NEX-7's case came loose. Knowing I need something sturdier for the A7, I went for the PWP deal on the vertical grip instead. It makes quite a nice difference in handling--for me, anyway. À chacun son goût!

$259. Just had to show my receipt from the A7 purchase.

The store had it posted on a small placard, but the Sony SG website doesn't show the grip on their PWP list...

I was lucky, was quoted 259 at a store by probably a clueless employee. Didn't think of getting the grip earlier when i purchased it from another shop. Didn't have to show any receipt. So i smiled to myself, quickly made the purchase and left.

My regular store will do that too. Bought extra 2 original batteries at $19 PWP price. 1 week after I purchased my A7R.

Can still go back to buy vertical grip, batteries, LA-EA4 anytime.

Actually, some of the camera shops in Singapore are very nice!

They may be stating the truth. The original battery was out of stocks for quite a while until last week. That's when I bought 2 extra at $19 each.

Some probably bought a few more to sell in BNS for profit, thus shops don't have enough stocks.

MsColor won't give you PWP price. They are quite good in price for camera body, but their accessories quite expensive and they will probably cover profit from batteries too.

BTW, they are not obliged to sell extra battery at PWP price since it was buy 1 camera get 1 PWP.
