Hey guys what's the best adapter for Voightlander lenses that works on the A7? Haven't tried any MF lenses before but since I want to jump to the A7 for its small profile, I don't want to end up using bulky lenses similar to what I use in my Canon system.

The voigtlander M to E adapter or Kipon ? There are cheaper variants as well.

Might need your advise which len MF/ AF is good to use for 35mm (except leica len as its out of my budget). I'm new in sony and still does not have any len until now. Haha

“lens" not “len"

CV35 f1.2 or 1.4
Zeiss ZM 35mm f2

Adding on to let him understand the price range:

(Rangefinder M mount lenses)
Between 500-1000 used lens: ZM 35/2, CV 35/1.4, CV 35/1.2 V1, CV 35/2.5
Between 1000-2000 used lens: CV 35/1.2 V2, Leica 35/2.5, Leica 35/2 Pre Aspherical V2 & V3

and the Sony Zeiss 35mm F2.8 is cheaper brand new, than the rest of them :bsmilie:

I think the real advantage with legacy M glass is the IQ, build quality, and the small size. MF is not really an issue because of all the assists built into the A7. http://www.stevehuffphoto.com/2009/12/02/the-voigtlander-nokton-35-1-4-mc-lens-review/ http://www.stevehuffphoto.com/all-reviews/sony-a7-corner/

You are right and BTW, manual focus with A7 and A7r is extremely easy to use.

Thanks all. Thoth, your photos are really poison ppls. :D any suggestion between zeiss zm 34 f2 and voigtlander 35 1.4 nokton classic sc.

If U dun need the fast f/1.4, go for ZM 35/2. Trustworthy top notch performance, especially if you are into modern clicnical rendering. Personally, I find CV 35/1.4's rendering is not to my liking, trying too hard to render like the Pre ASPH Leica Summilux 35/1.4 but lack that micro contrast and character. Just me, dun flame k. ;p

Agreed with the ZM 35/2 and a very good Len which I used in the GXR before.

haha because the range of lenses quoted by thoth are quite big

voigtlanders tend to be the cheaper/more budget option. Zeiss more expensive

35 1.4 ~ 600 used
35 1.2 ~ 1k-1.2k used
50 1.1 ~ 1k used

The AF is not always accurate but once u got it and is very sharp. Wait and see the 55mm f1.8 how it perform but I believe should be as what is written for.

Tried the FE 55/1.8 during the VIP launch event by Sony. AF is definitely moderate but IQ is top notch in terms of sharpness, IQ and Bokeh. Wish it was a f/1.4 though. :bsmilie:
