Has anyone here used Leica M lenses on the A7 or A7r. I just got to test a couple of my lenses focused to infinity, it seems that the edges sharpness is pretty poor. The better ones came from the WATE and MATE. The 35 and 50 cron were pretty bad while the 35 and 50 Lux were better, I would still consider it poor. Adapter is from Novoflex.

Yep, this was observed on M mount lenses... edge smearing... (M lenses+FF mirrorless)

Not a big deal to be honest... Unless you are expecting Leica quality.

Kind of understand what u mean. 1st impression is doesnt feel solid due to lightweight but will get use to it. Infact now kind of feel heavy after throwing on voigtlander 35/1.2

Loving it only thing is wish the sony name was smaller and not smack in the middle of the camera

That's your lens fault not A7/A7R fault haha, may i go try to touch and feel more about this camera. Today sony wisma so empty, when trying camera there n so many staffs's eyes look/stared at me make me paiseh to touch the camera too long haha

Tks bro. Now need to work on really shooting something interesting n not body parts. Haha. Looking forward to more birding shots from u.

Is there a 2X tele converter for Pentac K mount. Wondering if could b used on my Pentax 135/2.5 SMC?

Actually your candids are interesting. No need to be influenced by ppl whose post counts are higher than their shutter counts.

Dunno if this page has what you're looking for, but it might be worth a try:

Yup the corner of the 50 lux not very good. However the smoothness and sharpness at 1.4 is very nice extremely top notch and natural and color of OOC JPEG is much better than the 35mm FE Sony Len. To be frank there is also distortion on the extreme end of the Sony 35mm FE. So tend to shoot just off centre to get a better composition and depends also on situation.

Use noveflex definitely wouldn't be wrong.

Very disappointed with no cam IS, thus you need very steady hand and even for the Sony 35mm FE Len.

Lastly the video taken by the 35mm FE Sony is no good. If you shoot video with the lux 50, then you understand why the Sony 35mm FE is lousy. In short, video taken by lux 50 is so clear and smooth and the out of focus background is beautifully thrown off and the object very 3D in my opinion.

I think most tests have shown that Leica lenses are actually not that sharp in the corners wide open, contrary to popular belief, even on Leica cameras.

It's 1.4 vs 2.8 and 50mm vs 35mm, a different perspective. If you stopped down the Summilux to 2.8 or used the Summilux 35, it would be different.

Yeah, I was expecting Leica quality. So it is more of camera for certain rangefinder lenses, probably most DSLR lenses on top of the native E mount lenses. I will test shooting portraits with M lenses tomorrow to see how it looks.

Tks bro. So many tele converters there n price range is quite wide. I'll check it out n PM u accordingly for your advices bro. Cheers.

Thks, what I am trying to imply is not the perspective.

Totally agreed. Not just from a technical point of view but also from a financial point of view.

You can also use it a paper weight for now... Haha...

There is a nice kit zoom, or use adapter with all types of lenses....

I have a buddy who has his 35FE bought and kept in drybox with the unopened box unused as he spends all the time with his Leica lenses. Can try to persuade him to sell if keen.

Or call up all the Sony stores.... you may be able to find a set of the 35mm FE.

Bro I'm keen in the fe35. Let me know pls if your buddy want to sell? Thank you!

This Leica quality is, in part, due to software correction in camera. This guy seems to think you can do it in the computer...

Nice samples! Are the photos from Berlin? Shanghai Transvision & IB/E Optics Eckerl GmbH is a German company... Though the MTF charts look like from two centuries ago [sure, it's damn fast] and the schematic looks like an April fool's joke. ;)

This on a nex plus a speed booster.. what will be the outcome ? F0.6? And near ff fl?
What speedbooster? There won't be any speedbooster for that lens.

Speed boosters allow a Full Frame lens to render as a Full Frame lens on an APS-C body, not to render an APS-C lens as a Full Frame lens on a Full Frame body

Thanks a lot for the reminder.

Over excited hahha.
Wonder can speed boost an apsc lens on m4/3 in the future haha

Has nothing to do with APS-C in the first place. It depends if the lens was designed for a longer flange distance than m43 in that case. An APS-C lens for SLR mounts will work on m43. The lens above is designed only for mirror-less mounts.
