go for the a7 then hehe. i also wanted for the R to work well with legacy lenses so i can enjoy the 36mp and lack removed AA filter... but looks like a7 will have to do

Same reason I'm sticking to A7 till d new compact ff cam tat can work seamlessly wif RF lenses exist. Haha

Yeah. A bit disappointed with the results so far with rangefinder glass on the A7r. However, I've had very good success with the Sigma 8-16mm on the NEX series with EA2. However, not that many recently designed full frame wide angle lenses.

At least for me the Leica Tri-elmar 16-18-21 was the only one that works very well with no color shift on the nex7 unlike the rest of UWA. It should/will work mighty fine on the a7r

Tested or assumption bro? D A7R sensor is a different beast compared to d NEX 7. Haha

My fren in HK tested it 2 days ago and results were favorable as compared to his CVs. I couldn't try mine at the MSC event yesterday cos I sold my Hawks adapter when I sold the Nex7. Still waiting for the new one to fly in. Only time will tell ... Coming wed bro. :D

However, the batt grip feels very weird for me. It does not share the same `feel´ as the camera͵ which make switching from vertical to horizontal feel like u have just changed to a different camera. A minus for me.

agree with you totally, especially on the battery grip. i hope that 3rd party grip makers can make a smaller and more ergonomic grip, but it is highly unlike... 3rd parties will probably just copy the exact design and replicate. Why does the grip need to be so big?

if the batteries can be placed flat instead of this position, at least 2-3cm can be shaved off the grip design making the camera feel and look much better.

How much is the grip? Seems we have to wait till 27th to get d camera from Sony store, nobody in sg got them thru them yet as of today.

if you buy from amazon its about 3xx. 299 usd.

tweaked the grip image slightly, if only it looks like the one on the right i edited. bigger rubber handgrip area, shorter height.

common 3rd party grip makers, give me a design like this haha

The grip looks ridiculous.

Think the grip design is give allowance for the chunk below EA4.
Haven't seen any EA4 combination with grip yet but that's what I can imagine.

Getting more excited each day as A7 / A7r draws near.

Sony Alpha grips are normally taller & bigger than others.

Anyway, like someone mentioned above, the reason the grip is so large & shaped like that is to accomodate the LA-EA4.

it's amazing how small the A7 body is that a lens with a 72mm filter thread seems huge for this camera body when all us dslr users are already used to 77mm and even 82mm filter thread diameter lenses

Any one interested in half case for the Sony A7? I was researching for one but seems that only Gariz has one for pre-order now but their website is in Korean. Can't do anything there :-)

I don't mind preordering a case from Gariz, USD300 and above there's free international shipping.

The grip looks tok big even if we take into account of having to have space for the adapter.

Think i stick with the nekkid body

Mass order? All of us can save shipping.

good idea, count me in for a pre-order on the gariz case too.

shall we start a thread in the mass/order section
