It is interesting how they slice and dice the features into two cameras. Essentially they are saying, you want it all , you have to get both cameras . Looks like A7 will be more apt for the average users who wants softer shutter, better iso and faster af.

I thought Sony's secret message is don't get any of them now, better wait for the next model in 2015 or whatever. :|

This is not shown in the A7 sensor. As I have said in my previous post, to solve this colour drift and edge smearing issues, it is not just implementing offset microlens, but having lens correction is just as important. Leica did this with the M8/M9. But with the M240, there is no offset microlens. Instead Leica and CMOSIS developed elliptical microlens and shallower photodiode wells.

As usual for illustrative purposes only. I wouldn't take marketing diagrams too seriously, they are sometimes far away from the truth. Let's wait for proper tests.

saw the A7r and A7 at Shanghai, tried to play with is a bit but sadly they don't allow me to place my SD card when testing it. the display set I manage to work with is a7r with 55 f1.8. AF speed seem to be same as my NEX7... not that fast but I'm ok with it. I was told the price in China is (body only) 13,800RMB with current exchange it's around 2.8KSGD. Also I was told they may get it around Nov-Dec.
Sorry cant ask much the seller as I cant speak Mandarin and the sales person tries hard to response to me in English

A7R at 2.8k sgd? Not bad. Wif no PDAF, slower AF is expected.
Plus pdaf is more for tracking moving subjects. For landscapes, etc, cdaf is perfectly fine.

True. Sony is able to make a body tat integrate both A7 and A7R. Best of both worlds but they choose to release 2 separate bodies targeting different genres of shooting. Tatz how biz works. Haha

yeah AF speed I don't care much as most of my lenses are MF anyways hehehe. I might just get the usual AF lenses .
I don't know if the sale person was just pulling my legs as we know China is not the cheapest place to buy imported electronics due to head taxes. I did asked if that before or after TAX he seems don't understand my English :-( wish I have my daughter with me she could help me translate lolz.
