WOW thanks quite a line up. I am seriously contemplating getting a CV 35/1.4, and coupled it with an α7 - although the latest "shooting experience review" on DPR seemed to be quite critical of the α7, in favour of the α7R.
getting into sony and cv lenses as part of my downsizing efforts. look at the size difference of the 35s.
The canon L lens is a 50mm f1.2.

Well not just AF. Af can explain the size diff of the 50mms. The 35 1.4 is way smaller due to the RF lens design. Not just AF.

Update re: 35mm f/2.8 prime pls.
Confirmed launch on 27th Nov for A7/R... same launch date for Zeiss 55/1.8 and 35/2.8. Enjoy. Long waiting list. Beware...

Wish I could. Love the handling. Zeiss 55/1.8 is awesome, sharp where it should be and Bokeh is nice.

AF on 55/1.8 is speedy. I din test the 35/2.8 as I was using MF with adaptor on my CV35/1.7 and CV15/4.5. Haven't check the photo quality on my MacBook Pro. Initial view on CV15 performance on A7, no purple cast on edges up to f/8. Later will upload after my MBA class tonite. Thanks.
No pricing on the 2 lens?

i was able to attend the event this morning.
-didn't notice the AF speed difference between A7 and A7R
-tried using my SEL24F18Z, vignetting seems acceptable
-the FE 35mm will be available on Nov 27 as well, pricing quoted was 1069 or 1089
-LAEA4 was interesting, but adds a bit of bulk/size, iirc pricing is 469

So there is purple cast with the CV15 on certain aperture sizes?
